Artist's 'Hyper-Realistic' Paintings

Still Waters

Recommended Posts

These images aren't the work of a photographer - they're paintings.

The man behind the intricate masterpieces is 33-year-old Patrick Kramer from Springville, Utah.

The hyperrealist artist says each artwork takes anywhere from 50 to 300 hours to finish.

That is crazy awesome! I'm actually 50/50 on whether it is actually real or not! It could just be a photo that someone says is a painting.

His work is amazing. You can see on some that these are indeed paintings. Beautiful work. Thanks Still Waters. This is lovely :)

At first I had trouble believing what I was seeing, but I found higher definition images of his work and I can see some evidence of brushwork. I have seen some other artist with hyperreal art, but it was mostly colored pencil...I've never been patient enough to do things like that, it takes a lot of time to really study the light, shadow and shape of a subject/photo to recreate it so precisely.

Certainly a lot of talent, a lot of patience and a lot of precision, very awesome and much respect to him and others who can achieve this...me, I will stick with a camera.

I have seen his work before, and I am always amazed at the level of detail. I really liked the pic of the two goldfishes, and wish I had a print of it to hang in our living room!
