Unexaplanable dream shift

Recently about a year ago I've been experiencing some strange things happening in my brain. Ive been remembering dreams from years ago I'm talking about dreams ive had as a kid are just strangely pouring out of my long term memory. It first started out pretty slow and I thought it was remarkable at first. But now its a daily thing where I remember dozens of old dreams. I lucid dream kind often and sometimes what I see in this dreams end up happening. Just last night I had a dream of me stepping outside to my backyard to a huge black sessile sandstorm. The sandstorm formed what seemed to be a dragon. I woke up not thinking much but I knew something was up. As I arrived at school and was listening to my teacher ramble about the fictional story "Don Quijote y la mancha" she explained how he went delusional in the dessert and would see sandstorms as dragons. As soon as I heard this I felt my stomach got weak and my head started to hurt a little. It couldn't have just been a coincidence. If someone can please tell me what they think could be going on in my head please speak your mind.

Maybe some sort of psychic stuff happening? Intuition? That happened to me once, I dreamed that my parents got me a phone I really wanted, but I knew I wouldn't get because it was quite expensive and they couldn't find one cheap enough, but I dreamed we found a cheap one and when I woke up my mum said she had found the phone for cheap just like in my dream. Shallow, but still strange :P

I have no idea how this happens or why, maybe just a premonition, or you were thinking about it a lot somehow.. I don't know but it's kind of cool :o

I can't find a logical explanation for any of it. I tend to get sleep paralysis a couple of times a month. I'm only 17 so I'm kinda scared of what's going in in my head lol. Thanks for you reply though!

Hi Wolfnixon.

Welcome to UM.

Cool dream.. As far as I can tell there's no such thing as coincidence where dreams are concerned, and there is certainly nothing to be afraid of when major shifts and changes are occurring within our dreams and lives, am going through similar changes myself at the moment..

I think the biggest message here is that there is nothing delusional about it. Well, That's my thoughts on it, but it is your thoughts that matter the most..

Without change, we fail to grow..

Embrace it.. Study it, run with it.. Enjoy..

After years of lucid dreaming I began to start dreaming of the future. Often it was the immediate future, odd random things but very specific so I'd know that I'd dreamed this exact event or thing. My daughter has the same talent. Now we are just used to it. You'll get used to it and once you do, you can start to use that information to help you in day to day life. Once one of my future dreams headed off an ambush some neighbors had planned for me on a property dispute. The events the next day unfolded exactly as the dream predicted and when the "lure phone call" came, I said "no thanks, I think I'll pass". They were very disappointed! I found out later they were up to exactly what the dream predicted. To the letter. It was chilling at the time. Now I just take that stuff in stride.

Consider yourself lucky and not cursed!

I can relate to your experiencing the old dreams flooding into your mind. This has been happening to me for years. It usually is triggered when I'm taking a shower or doing the dishes. I will be thinking about nothing in particular when the dreams start flooding in one after another. I'm convinced that I reach a meditative like state, albeit a very shallow one, and it opens a part of my brain that is usually closed. Anyway good luck hope I have helped. P.s. First post for me here, hello all!

Don't be so sure it's such a shallow state of meditation. Skilled dreamers will practice for years to reach the state where they can "dream awake' as you describe. Next thing you know, your double will be walking around and someone will tell you that you just were somewhere that you know for a fact that you weren't. Dreaming awake is the in between stage between good lucid dreaming and having a doppleganger. Trust me, I know a little something about this: http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=232445&hl=
