I just cannot believe that people don't see how messed up this new generation is. There is something fundamentally wrong as a whole. After reading the description of what these scumbags did all I can think is how callous do you have to be to do this. There is a disconnect here in the minds(and that is a stretch there) of kids today. What is going on. CAn 'timeout' fix this? don't think so folks. They are obviously not teaching compassion either cause I don't see a lot of that. They are sheltered in their own little worlds not allowed to learn life lessons the proper way. Their not punished so they don't respect the boundries of decency and self control. There are a lot of parents who simply don't punish their kids for fear of hurting their feelings. I think history shows that when an individual focuses all of their negative emotions onto one person or a specific type of person bad things will always result no matter either ones age. These two probably blamed the child for coming into this world, crying, needing to be taken care of, having to spend money on her etc etc. Then they also probably focused their negative emotions for her father onto her. She became the reason their lives were messed up and wrong. If she wasnt there things would be better. Anyone that pays attention to this stuff will have seen this before from people of many ages. Its wrong, sad and so very tragic but really doesnt have anytihng to do with the current generation going to hell. In my opinion..... Kevin A. You at least seem to have had a decent upbringing and a basic understanding of limits. What I am talking about is the other types. The kids that rove in packs and beat up on a single helpless person for fun. The kids that bully cause there are more than in my day. Its an epidemic, people need to wake up. I don't know what could cause this stuff but i do know its getting worse and worse not better and better. And I definitelt know it was not like this when I was growing up, not at this rate anyway. I have two friends who went to school for teaching and won't teach on this continent because they are literally afraid of their students and what they are capable of. As far a generations go I don't know how much it plays into the torture and muder of a child. There have always been sick people and there will always be sick people. Take them out of society as soon as possible and never let them back into it. They gave up there human rights the second they hurt that girl as far as i'm concerned. How can we say it's not just reported more and heard about more with the easy access to information. I must say, the system seems to be pretty weak for handling people who commit crimes of any scale. Younger people are less deterred from committing crime because the only thing waiting for them is a slap on the wrist... and that's if they get caught. Like I said, this is just one of several factors that could possibly play into so much of this garbage appearring on the news. It would be unfair to say it's just our generation, however. Look at older people who committed autrocities. Edward Gein was a real screwball. And how about that lady who drowned all of her children in the bathtub. If I remember correctly she was middle-aged. I'm not denying there's a problem though Stixx... it seems pretty evident that there's a big problem. I just don't think it's as black and white as you're making it with the age thing. Texas has no problem with using their death penalty, unlike alot of other states...This should be an open and shut case, no appeals, no calling them mentally unstable, just let Texas do it, and do it fast... Releasing the bombs actually saved 500,000 American lives. And no I don't care how many japanese were killed. Its a sad fact of war that each one has a winner and a loser and JApan didn't need to attack pearl harbour, they dragged the states in. And i don;t hear any bleeding hearts for the civilians the Japanese made dig their own graves, who were killed because the JApanese didn't think the code of bushido applied to gwi'lo. Someone said on anohter thread that public executions should be reinstated and I agree. MAybe if some of these emotionally closed off types saw something like that they would at least take pause of themselves. Hands down these twerps did this so, end their life publicly so that other people who are on the verge of doing something simular don't. I know it seems cruel but we are not having success with the softly softly approach. And I am not talking about everytime, just crimes that meet a certain disgust factor or criteria. What will happen is they will get ten years max and be out before they know it and the next time they lsoe their temper or someone is in their way of what they want they will kill them too. This generation is no different then your generation it's just a different time and you now view things from a different perspective. Every generation says the one that succeeds it is messed up when in actuality that's not the case. Something that alters the perception of older folks these days is the access to information that wasn't available for example the internet.
