Still Waters Posted November 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2012 When George Orwell wrote in his classic novel Animal Farm that man and pig are almost identical he was closer to the truth than he realised, according to a new study. Scientists have undertaken the largest ever study of the pig genome have found that swine are adaptable, easy to seduce with food and susceptible to domestication - much like humans. The findings, published in the journal Nature, also show that pigs suffer from the same genetic and protein malfunctions that account for many human diseases, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and obesity. http://www.dailymail...cal-humans.html
+OverSword Posted November 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2012 In Gangs of New York Daniel Lewis uses a pigs corpse to show Leonardo Dicaprio how to use a knife either to wound a man or kill him because the organs are in nearly the same positions. spud the mackem Posted November 15, 2012 #11 Share Posted November 15, 2012 I thought that we were a couple of steps up from apes ?, so is a piggy related to an ape, like cousins or something ? boy these posts get really weird at times, and some "scientists" have a serious "headbanger" syndrome.

Lava_Lady Posted November 15, 2012 #14 Share Posted November 15, 2012 Well, the cannibals of old Papua New Guinea did call human meat "long pig" for a reason... I read somewhere, years ago, that human flesh tastes very much like pork... after reading that, I can no longer eat pork unless it's heavily seasoned like Chinese kau yuk, char siu, or bacon, ham or the like.
