Two teenagers whose fingers were cut off in a game of tug-of-war at a school in California are awake and alert after surgery, a medical official says.

But it is not clear if doctors have been able to reattach the boy and girl's fingers.

The two, both aged under 18, were participating in a lunchtime game of tug-of-war at South El Monte High School near Los Angeles on Monday.

What happened to falling into a mud puddle if you lose? Whipper snappers always have to out do the old folks. The stakes are now a few fingers! Wonder what will happen with freeze tag in the future?

It is a war of attrition,it must be stopped by any means!Ropes should be banned immediately!Who knows what they may do next! The call for action is now!We as americans can not just sit back and watch this ever happen again.this is a great turning point for this country we must act!

If they ban ropes then the Tug of War infidels will just use saran wrap.  Where do we stop this at. Better rope control. Do we ban certain types of rope and limit the length of rope that can be sold to 7 inches ? Background checks and databses of legal rope owners is a good place to start. That way we can hold someone accountable for these tragedies perpetrated by the Tug of Warers. We need to have mental health evaluations as well. I am certain not all rope owners use it appropriately. They should also be put into bondage and/or imprisoned for there misuse of rope.

Back in the day it was a tool now it is just a dangerous weapon !!
