Shadow people, ghosts or aliens?

Okay, so I used to use this website yeaaaars ago to try and research what I had experienced. I'm sure this topic has been asked a billion times, but I need help. I'm currently 21 years old, and still searching for answers. I have been through therapy since 10, been put on anti psychotic medication, hospitalised, told that I'm imagining things or that I have schizophrenia. But I know what I saw was real and it still puzzles me today as I can't seem to find a clear answer to my question...

** POSTING THIS ON BOTH GHOST FORUM AND ALIEN FORUM TO TRY AND FIND ANSWERS

I can remember seeing this beings 'till around the age of 8? and since then in the corners of my eyes or in my mind. I hear voices every night, or have dreams about horrible paranormal things. As I said, when I was younger I'd see these beings.. they'd be solid black figures that weren't transparent, have no human features, seemingly male and give off the feeling of dread. Sometimes they'd have red eyes, sometimes they'd be doing weird things like punching the air or jumping on the spot? I have been told that I am psychic, but these beings didn't feel like they were once human, which is why I have the alien theory in my head.

As well as seeing the above, I'd see random black solid objects? The only way I could describe it would be I'd see objects on the roof - like every day objects such as furniture, electronics etc (I know that sounds really random and weird but this is why I need help understanding it)

In my years of research,I have heard that these beings are of extraterrestrial nature, or from a different dimension? As well as being demonic or supernatural. Please, any information you could give me would help a lot. I'm sick of being told that I have mental illness or that I'm crazy. Thanks - Ness

The mind plays tricks on all of us sometimes in peoples life, especially when people are stressed or depressed. It has happened to me around the time I was diagnosed of MS.

I heard voices, someone/thing being there, when they wasn't. But when I went on antidepressants, the voices etc etc went away.

Or you were hallucinating

Or it could be jinn

I've removed the post on the Ghost Forum, but left a link there to this thread, so anyone clicking on it there will arrive at this post to discuss it.

Having the same thread in different places just confuses people - and now you only have one place to check for updates.

I have been on anti depressants most of my life, and have changed them regularly. I don't think it's stress related.

So I assume you have talked about this issue with your psychiatrist? If not, I suggest you should.

Yes, and unfortunately he is a man of science and doesn't believe in these sorts of things. To be honest, I'm a little disappointed that people would jump to the conclusion that it's mental health related. As stated above, I'm looking at other explanations.

So you are looking for people who tell you that you are being visited by interdimensional beings. Would that sound like a plausible explanation for you? Why are you excluding mental issues? Especially, if you are already in treatment?

Your psychiatrist is trying to help you. You should at least give it a try and follow his advice.

Edit: Why are you disappointed that people come to the conclusion it would be a mental health issue? Yes, nobody likes having that, but it's okay, and can be dealt with. It is nothing to be ashamed of.

it's not the People answering that jump to conlcusions. it's YOU that makes the stretch towards something paranormal.

And even if it's not your desired type of answer, i'd also suggest that you consult a doctor rather than looking for answers in ETs or ghosts. Seeing things is not only a "mental health problem", but can also indicate to serious physical health issues.

Have a general checkup with another unfortunate "man of science", if that doesn't bring any results, you can still look for otherworldly explanations.....

Hi Nessa. I've been interested in the paranormal for ages, and I have an open mind. However, the fact is that while aliens might be visting Earth, the chance of what you are experiencing being connected to aliens or inter-dimensional beings is very, very remote. There is also almost no real evidence that ghosts exist. Psychological conditions, on the other hand, DO exist - and we know this for a fact. The explanation for what you experience is psychological/psychiatric. The likelihood that you are experiencing something paranormal is extremely low. If aliens or inter-dimensional beings are visiting, it makes no sense that you'd see them when you were younger, but stop seeing them when you got older, or that only you would see them. The same applies to hearing voices, which is a clear sign of a psychiatric condition.

Keep receiving treatment, and working with you doctor/s to determine if you are improving, and what changes are taking place in the things you feel and perceive. Changing or starting/stopping a medication, for instance, might be correlated with a change in hearing voices. This would lend even more support to the likelihood that what you experience is a product of you brain.

The brain is still poorly understood, even today, in 2015. Remember that everything we feel, see, hear, is a product of our brain. It is your brain, not outside sources, paranormal or not, which you need to focus on.

We can't tell you things like "oh, you know what? You might be experiencing a poltergeist! Or an inter-dimensional being" - don't look for these kinds of answers, because it's useless. We'd be irresponsible to put forward paranormal explanations, which in themselves are extremely dodgy subjects with very little proof, for your condition. Your symptoms are not those of someone who has seen a UFO in the sky (that would be considered 'hard evidence', which we could discuss here). Yours are those of someone experiencing something in the mind, which can be treated, as you have been doing for years.

I've had similar experiences. I have seen what is referred to as a "shadow person". Once after an episode of sleep paralysis, and quite a few times in the dream realm. I have no real theories as to what they are. Perhaps they are simple constructs of the mind, perhaps not.

Their presence does always seem to exude a significant level of vileness, which is quite interesting. Furthermore, it's odd that unrelated individuals report similar descriptions. Surely it's not a collective delusion, or rampant imitation. Which makes the, "you're just seeing things" dismissal uneasily swallowed.

It could be 4D beings moving through our plane that you're somehow observing. If such a thing were possible, we'd not be able to perceive but a cross-section of them, if anything at all.

In the end, the only thing I can really tell you is that I don't think you're crazy. There's much more going on than we will ever understand. Like the ant that knows nothing of man's world above.

Dude get a camera and record everything when you start seeing black object if your eyes can see it so should the camera. Also if it helps get a infrared camera and record.

If you're already on medications for psychological issues, it is probably a psychological issue producing your perceptions. As Flombie says, a psychological issue is the same as any health issue and is nothing to be ashamed of. Talk to your psychiatrist and see what she says, and I urge you to ACCEPT what she says, even if it is not what you want to hear. Doscarding explanations simply because you dislike them will not get you answers, it will only cause a descent into a fantasy realm of make-believe.

We've had lots of experiences with shadow people. I don't think they were ever human. They do seem "alien." Not alien as in extraterrestrial, but alien as in not from here. I lean more towards inter-dimensional beings or thoughtforms.
