You know, I always carry a blade on me. If I saw him doing this, I could have dispatched him quickly.

Weird, how that works.

Five DEAD. Errmm, how does that happen? I guess MAYBE we'll find out. The MSM is probably going to have an attack of some sort on this one. It goes against the script but it's SUCH a good story... vultures...

And this is how gun loving Texas makes a point.

That's kind of what I was thinking. It was a nut proving that gun bans won't make a difference.

It wouldn't surprise me at all.

That's the point. Gun bans only allow the government, those that we elect to more easily violate our Constitutional Rights.

Easy to say - impossible to prove I guess, but I agree it is possible. The point IS made though.

We should just ban humans.

Give them time and power and they'll get around to it. If you don't measure up or tote the party line, you may have a work camp in your future, if you live.

It's a frightening prospect - and it wouldn't be the first time either.... I wonder if THEY felt it was impossible in their time?

What I dont really get, is the disturbing frequency of these rampage style crimes. No other nation that I can think of has them to such a degree, Canada, UK, France, Germany, in fact all of Europe.

The arguement that not all the nations have guns is meaningless, many of the above nations have public-acess firearms, any anyways, this rampage was with a blade.

So why is it that this seems to happen in the USA more than anywhere else?

It must be some kind of cultural thing, its almost akin to some form of socio-cultural sickness.

Well I've never gunned anyone down or stabbed anybody to death, so I might be in the clear!

Because Americans treat each other like **** and people tend to get fed up and snap.

BTW I live in the US.

Yeah... I think its a mindset thing, many Americans I have met/spoken too have a very inward looking "fortress" style attitude.

"Its MY home"

"Its MY land"

"These are MY rights"

"Its MY space"

"Its MY opinion"

All of the above are often framed in very... agressive almost militant terms the like of which I cant recall finding in people from other places in the world I have spoken too. And instead of having a chat about it, or asking some polite questions it seems the go-to response for any percived infringement upon the above is a violent one. I dont really know why.

Thats because these very things are being attacked. Therefore people feel the need to defend themselves. Trust me people werent this uptight about things before they started trying to take them away.

We were just jobless and running out of monmey and getting poorer and poorer trying to work our way out of it by any means possible. But alas that feelgood moment is passed and we are where we are today. Dont expect for a moment the American people are going to roll over for this socialist aka fascist approach to removing our fundamental rights that were what this country was based on. The Constitution.

And he didn't even need to reload....... bah this subject is starting to get tedious. Do any of the anti gun people see that this is a people problem and not a tool problem yet? Probably not I suppose. This is tragic. This whole debacle is absolutely tragic. 11 or 15 however many doesn't really matter. A lot of lives were effected today.

Where's the MSM calling for banning knives?

We need a vote to make it harder for our children to be knifed down!

They're quite rightly banned over here. But the point is that a knife has a practical purpose, like a shovel or a hammer. A gun, however, is designed specifically to kill people (and other things). And it is FAR easier for an unarmed man to take out a guy with a knife, rather than one with a gun.

Guns are for pussies. :D

Socialist is Fascist?

My main point, is that the go-to response is one of irrational anger.

By way of example.

In the USA if a child/young adult/adult is feeling isolated and bullied etc etc a fairly "common" response appears to be "Ill show em! Ill show em all! will make them all pay!" Some of them then go and grab an m16, wander onto campus and mow down a dozen or so people, most of whom would have likely never met the offender.

Its not a rational response, it simply does not really happen in other countries. Even if you feel your "rights" are being infringed upon, the rational response is not mass slaughter.

every one of those kids was prescribed medications that indicate that type of behavior as a side effect. So thats a mental health issue at the minimum. But yeah dont know what the prescribing practices are in other places but the term handing them out like candy is used here.

I wouldn't say that it was anywhere near a common response, or there would be no bullies left.
