chemical-licker Posted October 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2009 London Tube and bus fares to rise Travellers will have to fork out for above-inflation public transport fare rises in the capital in the New Year. And the daily cost of the London congestion charge for vehicles is also going up soon, it was announced. Mayor Boris Johnson said Tube fares would have to rise in January by an average of 3.9%, while bus fares would rise by 12.7%. Why does their prices go up and the average joe's wages dont? it's a joke:angry2:
Enigmatic Ghost Posted October 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2009 For Humanitarian Reasons I write this comment. I think they should raise the Fairs for Tube and Busses as well as higher Taxes placed upon the commoners, and the rich, that way all of those below poverty class immigrants sleeping in the doorways and back streets of Belfast, and London begging for coppers and food will have a chance for assisted housing and a new life, I understand immigrants over there can be ‘lazy’ and ‘completely useless as in unproductive to better them selves’, It’s an atrocity with the poor immigrants living in such conditions while People are living upon their high horses, how do people there even sleep at night in their warm cozy homes while other are sleeping upon sidewalks and in doorways, I guess it out of sight out of minds and selfishness at best for a lot of folks, there should be no homelessness in the UK what so ever, the Crown Jewels should be pawned and gold melted down and put to use for humanities needs. Rhungobains Posted October 15, 2009 #6 Share Posted October 15, 2009 Oh for God's sake. Another rise. The price paid for a ticket these days there should be complimentary snacks and light entertainment on the journey. Instead I have to have my nose buried in someone's sweaty armpit. ExpandMyMind Posted October 15, 2009 #8 Share Posted October 15, 2009 they've been putting the fares up here quite frequently. 2-3 times a year for the past 2 years - that i've noticed. one excuse they gave was that the price of oil had went up... the fares just happened to stay up once oil prices went back down though... funny that. i put it down to them being fools. they put the prices up with the intention of making more profit, then less people take the bus. so they put the prices up again, and again, less people take the bus.... then they sit around in their offices scratching their heads wondering, "why aren't we making more money", before some executive comes up with the brilliant idea of, yup, you guessed it, putting up the prices again. so while people with sense and who are able to, stopped taking the bus a long time ago, people who have no choice but to get a bus to go where they need to go, are royally ****ed things like this tick me off..
