......................... Posted December 31, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2005 HEAVEN Blueish-Purply breezes drifting past wheeling stars of the azure heavens, lit with souls. Where angels’ wings flutter over golden goblets filled with light and columns of masonry hold up the shimmering sky, sparkling like joyous voices raised in praise. Heavenly music carries over beautiful angels whispering messages of peace for mankind. Teaching them to love, cry and be free. Heaven awaits Angels await Be free, dear child, be free Fly and join us, Soar to the heavens Spread your wings Be free
Yelekiah Posted January 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2006 The first stanza reminds me of Van Gogh's Starry Night.
......................... Posted January 1, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted January 1, 2006 Wow, that is a great compliment. I think that imagery in poetry and art has similar origins. Colour and pictures are used in both.
......................... Posted January 1, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted January 1, 2006 BLOOD SKY IN THE HEART OF THE DESERT The desert is hot under the sun But the warmth is welcoming Clouds gather and rain falls Streams and rainbows appear The desert blossoms into Life Pure happiness But the sun is setting She will miss his warmth Red sky and gold clouds Birds fly in the heavens Rays of light touch her soul Now the sun is gone Coldness Loneliness Rain falls again Colourless Without the sun’s light She mourns for his warmth But alas the moon rises His rays asking for Friendship Soul love She has to find her peace in the starlight Find her heavenly light in the friendship The sun will rise on another day In a different desert and Rainbows will shine there Birds will sing for joy She will rejoice in that knowledge And hopes that they will find pure happiness While she still mourns his heat

......................... Posted January 2, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted January 2, 2006 Thanks, here is another: THE SEA OF EMOTIONS The girl swimming in the water Is happy in her heart The sun is shining Birds are flying on the currents Of warm air The shells on the beach glisten The waves gently lap her body But a dark cloud covers The sun, the wind picks up The sea gets rough She flails about Boats are tossed around She loses her footing And struggles against the current Her body is getting weak She resigns her last breath But the sea collects her limp body And moves it back to the Shallows lovingly Caressing her Saving her She breathes again
1667832 Posted January 2, 2006 #7 Share Posted January 2, 2006 But the sea collects her limp body And moves it back to the Shallows lovingly Caressing her Saving her She breathes again I like that last verse, especially the "sea collects" which is a good use of personification, as well as the following lines. ......................... Posted January 3, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted January 3, 2006 Thanks AA, I like using the elements like water, which means emotions. THE LIGHTHOUSE The beacon carries far into the night Across the stormy seas And the calm Always its light beckons Lost ships Back to the safety of solid land Where open arms Welcome friends back And loved ones feel safe again
nativechick1989 Posted January 3, 2006 #9 Share Posted January 3, 2006 Nice poetry RR! "The Lighthouse" makes me think of Dwight Yoakam's "Travelers Lantern". Keep it up, you have talent!!

GOLDEN SEA Across the golden seas our hearts met With mutual joy and confidence The birds and universe told us Everything about life And we will know it forever Your diamond heart and my chakra pearls Glitter like the indigo oceans Reflected by the moon and sun Two spirits become as one Emotions and tears flowed Like the joy and feelings Immortality is ours already But this life has plans And promises And friendship And joy and wisdom Together forever My friend and my soul
