thunkerdrone Posted August 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2007 http://www.halturnershow.com/RadiationFrom...eyAccident.html "HIGH LEVELS OF RADIOACTIVITY" FROM BOX FOUND IN CAR AFTER NEW JERSEY AUTO ACCIDENT DRIVER FLED SCENE AFTER AUTO ACCIDENT IN JERSEY CITY; CAPTURED BY POLICE -- JUST BLOCKS FROM MY HOUSE AND LESS THAN ONE MILE FROM HOLLAND TUNNEL TO NYC!! CONTENTS OF BOX UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME, BUT BOX IS EMITTING "HIGH LEVELS" OF RADIATION Authorities trying to keep people calm as they close roads and evacuate locals from area. This comes on the heels of NYPD stepping-up their radiation-monitoring equipment and setting up roadblocks Thursday and Friday of last week, looking for a "vehicle with a radiological dirty bomb." Reports of this possible dirty bomb surfaced in. . . . Israel. . . . last week causing US authorities in general, and NY/NJ authorities in particular, to become extremely vigilant. Could a fender-bender have thwarted a radiation attack on America? Check back often for details! UPDATE - Monday, August 13 @ 07:40 HRS: Something really strange is going on. It has now been more than eight hours since this began and the story isn't being reported anywhere else. Still nothing on ABC, NBC, CBS or CNN. Nothing on the Associated Press, UPI or Reuters wire services. It's like the media is deliberately ignoring the story!
questionmark Posted August 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2007 If there is something it will go over the ticker soon. And if it really is highly radioactive people in the general area must be taken to hospitals to have a contamination check, that is the latest they can keep it under the carpet. Spurious George Posted August 13, 2007 #6 Share Posted August 13, 2007 Box marked 'radioactive' found in car Monday, August 13, 2007 Jersey City fire officials last night were taking precautionary readings after an automobile accident opened the trunk of a parked vehicle which apparently contained a box of radioactive material. A car parked at Summit and Hoboken avenues was struck by a moving vehicle at about 9:15 last night, according to Police Lt. Edgar Martinez, who said the accident caused the parked vehicle's trunk to open. Police saw a box marked "radioactive material" in the trunk, said Martinez, who added there was no reason to believe the accident caused any material in the box to leak. Police ran the plates on the parked vehicle and contacted the father of the vehicle's owner, who said his son works for a company which takes soil samples. Police said they didn't know what caused the accident. Martinez said local television stations made the incident appear far more serious than it actually was. -- Found this. questionmark Posted August 13, 2007 #7 Share Posted August 13, 2007 I would have been very surprised if there would have been something major and there would have been absolutely no mention of it on the ticker. Even if things of this magnitude are to be kept confidential there are some leaks.

I bet it was serious, but the Bush Administration covered it up so they can pretend to be protecting us from the non-existent terrorist threat, which doesn't exist, but Bush created by invading Afghanistan (Wait...I'm not supposed to be against that)...er, I mean Iraq. Birmingham Posted August 13, 2007 #10 Share Posted August 13, 2007 With litterally millions of medical and industrial X-Ray machines in the States, and the need to service them, accidents like this happen. A girl I went to school with worked for an X-Ray supply company that serviced X-Ray machines around the state. Unfortunatly, she did not look both ways at an unmarked railroad crossing. And was killed. The spilled radiation made some problems at the funeral. So things like this are not unknown. With an existing alert, the police will take action. Maybe over-reacting. (but then they would be blamed if they did little and something importent did come out of the incident) But if a gieger counter does go above normal, in relationship to a box marked "radioactive", lights, bells and whistles will go off until the seriousness of the incident is known. They learned that the hard way when an American cobalt irradiation machine was "disposed off" by a Mexican company. It landed in a junk yard, contaminated a whole village and the steel pieces landed in a smelter. Later the radioactive stuff returned to the States in form of construction steel.
