Paranormalcy Posted November 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2015 (edited) TIME is taking an online poll as to who should be on the cover of their magazine. There are a BUNCH of people that really deserve it, and some that - well, don't. This is YOUR chance to vote and see if your pick gets the top spot, or at least gets into the running. Or you could just see what spot these people are at. The second place vote is at 6%. The number one vote is 18% - three times the percentage of spot 2. I'm not going to say I'm not elated that Bernie Sanders is that #1 spot on TIME's poll. But this doesn't mean he will GET it, and it doesn't mean you can't vote for who YOU think is most influential, so if you want, take a minute and participate in TIME's poll. http://time.com/4110...l-results-2015/ Edited November 19, 2015 by Paranormalcy

Paranormalcy Posted November 19, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted November 19, 2015 Darn and I really thought I had it! But I was wrong. Oh well. Yeah it looks like you have to have FB or twitter, which sucks. I have both and I don't mind putting stuff online, but I know there are a lot of people that do. I think they're making a mistake by limiting responses to people that don't do social media.

lightly Posted November 19, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 19, 2015 in retrospect, time's "person of the year" often seems to have turned out to be a monster? Wasn't Hitler selected at least once?
Paranormalcy Posted November 19, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted November 19, 2015 It seems counterintuitive to some, but it IS about being the most influential or talked about person - good or bad. I'm hoping we can focus on the good.
+Noteverythingisaconspiracy Posted November 19, 2015 #8 Share Posted November 19, 2015 in retrospect, time's "person of the year" often seems to have turned out to be a monster? Wasn't Hitler selected at least once? Like paranormalcy wrote the title isn't given on the basis of good deeds. It is given on the basis of influence. I don't think that anyone can argue that Hitler wasn,t influential ? I this day and age I think it would be impossible to find one person that everyone would agree was a good person. As an example Franklin Roosevelt recieved it 3 times, while Gorbatjov and Eisenhower recieved it two times each. They were mostly good people, though not perfect by any means, but I am sure you could find someone who would say that they were evil incarnate. Space Commander Travis Posted November 19, 2015 #10 Share Posted November 19, 2015 (edited) * Here we are: --> https://en.wikipedia...son_of_the_Year A. Hitler won it in '38, J. Stalin in '39 ( "In 1939, Stalin was General Secretary of the Communist Party and de facto leader of the Soviet Union. He oversaw the signing of a non-aggression pact with Nazi Germany before invading eastern Poland."), and '42, and W. Churchill in 1940 (and '49, when it looks as if they decided to give him another one just to make it equal with Uncle Joe). Then there was FDR in '41 (quite why exactly I'm not sure, and all he did at that time was to react to events Japan and Germany forced on him), and surely 1950 was a cop out The American fighting-man. And Perhaps '51 was the most daring, though, selecting Mohammad Mossadegh, who was shortly after ousted in a coup by those helpful folks at the CIA.
