StarMountainKid Posted November 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2014 My grandmother lived from the horse and buggy days to men standing on the moon. In my 70 years it seems everything has stayed about the same. We have the same social problems we had when I was a kid,, although many societal changes have been for the better. There are still wars, still poverty and hunger, we are still being threatened by the thugs of the world, the Republicans in the U.S.A. are still trying to return us to the Middle Ages, the rich are still getting richer and the middle class and the poor are still getting poorer, people are still ignorant and stupid and unaware of the facts, the young are still reckless and the old still yearn to be young and reckless once again. When I look to the future, I'm sort of glad I won't be there to witness it. I believe the changes that are coming will me more intense than the changes I've experienced. I'm not completely an old curmudgeon, though. I think hope for a better world is a good idea to keep in one's head. We've all survived so far, and we do whatever it takes to survive, either for good or ill. The human race will scrape and scratch along, I suppose, no matter what.

Crabby Kitten Posted November 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 2, 2014 Excellent link Third Eye. On Mercury I would be 166 years old! Sadly there was 197 violent earthquakes and Borneo pygmy elephants under threat since I was born.
