Weird dream...

Alienated Being

Recommended Posts

Me and my family were walking along a stretch of road (apparently it was in Newfoundland) and we came to this bridge. Through the thick fog, we noticed two motorbikes moving towards us. They passed slowly. Anyway, as we were moving towards the bridge, one of us mad the crazy decision that we were going to take an alternate path because apparently the bridge wasn't fully developed or something like that. Anyway, to get to the other side you had to go across these very buoyant rubber/foam boards that were pretty sturdy. Anyway, my dad fell in and started swimming towards the wooden dock and my mother was doing fine as well. Anyway, when I jumped in I was taken by an ocean current and luckily it pulled me alongside the bridge and I grabbed onto one of the metal grates as I was being taken. My mom and dad were screaming hysterically, but I managed to straighten myself out and stand up in the water (it wasn't even that deep). But the thing is, it was so realistic and vivid that I actually felt the water in my shoes and I felt me touching the bottom of the water with my sneakers to position myself upright. When I did that, it was almost like the current stopped fully. There was no suction, no force, no nothing. It just stopped. My mom and dad looked at me and pointed at a nearby pool of water close to where I was and said "That's 300 feet... you're lucky you saved yourself when you did".

And to be honest, throughout my whole life I always managed to get out of situations by the skin on my teeth just like in my dream. That is something that would happen to me in real life. After that, we ended up home in our backyard and I was sitting down by our little pond while my dad was working in it and I wrapped my arms around my chest and was breathing heavily, my heart was racing and I was just completely out of it and bewildered at what just happened. I need some interpretations here. What do you guys make out of it?

I was thinking perhaps the bridge vs the foam boards could represent a decision, where you can either choose the certainty of not going or the risk of going, like maybe the bridge represents certainty but you don't go anywhere, while traversing the water represents possibly getting somewhere but its dangerous, can go many different directions ( bridge only goes one way, more concrete literally and figuratively ;) )?

Also it could be that standing up in the water represents overcoming your fear? Maybe the water torrents represents your fear, so thats why the water becomes calm when you stand up?
