Night time experience.

Allright so last night I was terrified from what was happening.

Let's start off with a couple weeks ago.

I was nearly asleep , in the state where I was just about to drift off. I had my left arm aiming down toward's the same direction as my feet and I had my right arm underneath my pillow and I had my head on top.

I had the strangest thought of "pinching" myself. I carried through with it and sure enough it felt like I was pinching myself. Not just a ordinary pinch like you do as a joke etc. I squeezed hard and It hurt. Yet I wasn't doing it. So I was scared So I thought. I bet I'm just dreaming and sure enough I wasn't when i lifted my head and looked out the window. I placed my head back down onto my pillow on top of my arm well away from my other arm so I know I wasn't pinching it. So I said in my head This is just something to do with the body nearly falling asleep. So sure enough I imagined squeezing it as hard as I could and It hurt. Alot!.

I googled it the next day to see what it could be but no luck.

Last night's experience is the reason I'm writing this

I last night Nearly fell asleep. Same position and I had the feeling of a dog's nose sniffing my ear. It wasn't just like "Ha-ha I've got a dog sniffing my ear." I don't have a dog...

And I bet your thinking like "Why is that scary?" If you was in the same position I was theoretically. I was pooing myself. I've got goosebumps writing this.

I read online about sleep paralysis but I wasn't paralysed. I was free to move but I just kept my eye's shut and pretended to be asleep like it was a ghost as I was about to cry it was that scary.

Any other similar experience's or a explanation of what it was?

You answered your own question, you was about to drift off.

Yes , I said that. I wasn't asleep though was it? "about to" I was still awake like able to go biking type of awake.

Pooing yourself? Well ive never heard of that you should try practicing manipulating objects if it happens again sounds like an amazing ability lol the closest thing i have felt is the sensation of falling out of the body and of being hundreds of miles away seemingly without it. Being able to use force without it now that is a little unbelievable and worth experimenting with if you get more comfortable with it.

Yet you thought you were pinching yourself when you wasn't? And had the impression of a dog sniffing your ear yet you don't have a dog?

You sure you would want to go biking?

You were in a drifting state, your mind was probably starting its dream state while retaining some consciousness.

I've had dreams where I thought I was awake and I wasn't.

I had one with my late grandmother trying to tell me she wasn't happy about something.

At the time I was mad at my brother about moving my stuff around and throwing some of my stuff out when he would forcibly clean up stuff I didn't ask him to clean up.

The dream had me mad at him and go to the front door of my place then suddenly I could see my grandmother and she was staring out HER front door not mine.

It was the weirdest thing and when I woke up, I didn't know what to think because up until I saw her, it felt like I was awake.

I told my mom about it and she said "did you talk to your cousin? He's redoing the house (Grandma's) and he tore out this one piece of shelving from the front door.

That's when I realize in the dream something was missing: that shelf by the door that separated the room. She was telling me she was angry about that because it had been originally created by my grandfather for her.

It's very possible to have dreams you feel awake and you aren't I have them all the time.

Sometimes it's annoying because I'll be ready for work, walk to the door to leave then wake up and think "Dang... I have to get up and do that stuff for real now" :P

Having "waking dreams" and either the leftovers or a pre-dream dream, can happen, going to (hypnopompic) or waking (hypnogogic) from sleep, and in the latter, it can last up to 15 or so minutes in some unusual cases - it's similar to sleepwalking in some ways.

Sounds like you might have been physically asleep, if this happens again don't assume you are awake but make the effort to get up and walk around. Sometimes it can be almost impossible to tell the difference until you notice something that is out of place in your normal environment. I find it difficult to tell the difference sometimes as the so called sleep state is just as real as the waking state, it's only when I recognise something out of place that I realise where I am.

Once that is realised then amazing things can happen

I'm curious about the pinching. You felt it first, then questioned it's validity? Did you immediately get the sense it was you doing the pinching?
