I absolutely love Listverse and I just found this cool list about interdimensional time travel.

what do you guys think about this?

The most fascinating one imo are number10, the guy from Taured, an unknown country on our planet and the number9 since the beatles album is uploaded on the net?

Apparently the songs are just remixes of solo songs by members of the band. Disappointing. At least John Titor put a little bit of effort in.

yeah, i realized, too. there is also a bit of that song the three remaining beatles made in the 90's in there. But at least somebody put some effort in his story....

I have the same thoughts. I think someone put a LOT of effort in it. Really well done, but I'm still not convinced.

He didn't ask if the Beatles had an impact on the world there like they did here. That would have been my #1 question about the Beatles. Also this tape is English. Does the other dimension even speak our same language?

And boy oh boy, if it happened to me, I would have a lot more to talk about then just the Beatles (even though I love their music). I'd want to bring a lot more info back to our dimension. I would have even stayed longer to learn more.

But, in all, I enjoyed the story.

and i think that's what it is: a story. Sure, there might be parallel universes all around us, but i liked this Story not so much for its versimilitude, but for the effort that was put in its fabrication. That adds a lot to its "credibility": the guy brought back (=edited together) some proof. I wish that all hoaxers would at least put a bit effort like that.... ;)

Yeah that was the first thing I thought too. A couple years ago (200's I believe) when they made the song ''A little less conversation'' from Elvis Presley even though he was dead.

Still a fabulous story and I want to believe it. I also agree with the fact that I would have stayed there for as long as I can to learn and tried to bring more proofs to our own earth!

In that The Beatles story, in the beginning the author mentions falling into a rabbit hole and knocking himself out. That's quite obviously a reference to what happens to Alice at the beginning of Alice in Wonderland (she falls down a rabbit hole and emerges in Wonderland) - therefore the author, right from the outset, makes it clear that it's a tale of fiction.

about as "quite obviously" as having sex on a camping place is a reference to "Friday 13th"...

They did not included the best one; the story of John Titor

I had read #4 before and there are some parts that were left out. The establishment that was seen had writing which could not be identified among the group and when they had stopped to ask someone, they had actually encountered a being that was not described but was the reason for the screaming so I take it he/she/it was no Handsome Harold. It was an interesting story to say the least or they could've been the "catch all" drunk... ;)

I sometimes like listverse and I liked this list and here are my thoughts on each one

10. "After more interrogation and confusion for both parties, the traveler was sent to a nearby hotel until an official decision could be reached." Yeah right! Cause that is what you do with someone who has a fake/unknown passport! I enjoyed the story but I don't believe it.

9. Someone mentioned the rabbit hole and the songs. Obviously fake. Nice fan fiction though.

8. On their explorations, they discovered a world that never developed human life but sustained plant life and water, which is where the chaos scientists were said to reside ever since... yet we know their story!

7. Sounds like a dream, Why only go back after a few years? If that happened to me I would go back asap. I don't believe it happened.

6. While it seems more likely that Garcia’s perceptions are the result of some neurological malfunction... that's all I believe it is.

5. A dream or an episode. He heard voices...

4. I like this one, it seems like it could be part of a movie. I don't believe it but in the context of travelling to other dimensions it could be right. I do think the girls are lying and something more mundane happened.

3. Enough has been written on this in the past... or the future!

2. A kids mind does strange things.

1. Or you know... she just suffered from an unfortunate disease/condition?

Late getting here, but I liked #10 as well. #9. The Beatles music could have been mixed better, but I think a remix could be done that would be representative of unknown Beatles songs. #8. that the human mind could be modeled as its own universe is interesting.

I think every time something happens, it could be considered that we are suddenly in an interdimensional alternate universe.

I wrote an odd little story about a man waking up in what he conceives to be an alternate universe.

Just for the record, about the story of the man who supposedly appeared in Tokyo airport back in 1954 claiming he was from a country that didn't exist ( "Taured") and with papers from companies and banks that also didn't exist...

The telling information on this one is that there is absolutely NO documentation of any of the story - it was simply found published in the sort of Mysteries books that were a dime a dozen in the early eighties. If anyone has any earlier references, feel free, but as far as I can find out, it is simply a made up story being repeated without any attempt at proper verification.

I have been prompted to add this after seeing some spam that has now been removed from UM - the spammers will hopefully, if they try again, post their new (if any) information about this case on this thread where it belongs, rather than starting another simply to get hits to their YT channel...

About the Taured man, I was thinking something different from inter dimensional traveller. What if it was a misunderstanding, like a mistranslation? it was the 50's after all. So perhaps Taured was Trieste (Trieste had a brief moment of indipendence from 47 to 54) just pronounced in Japanese. They couldn understand what he was talking about and they couldn find it on the map also because there was no internet (and no google maps) finding a up to date atlas was difficoult since it was after the ww2 and the borders were not yet 100% stabilized. So they send him to the hotel room. The day after the officials came along with the italian ambassador, and he was released with lots of apologies. Then few years later one of the guys who held him back, drunk with Sake, told the tale in a pub....changing few things here and there, a bored journalist toke the story and here we go.

Mystery solved?

Fun fact: if you type Taured on google maps, guess where it brings you? Haneda airport :-P

Trieste is nowhere near geographically to where this person allegedly pointed on the map. He was specific about Andorra, and that it was almost a 1000 years old (Andorra was established as a charter in 980 AD). So the early history of this place seems to be very similar, other than the name and the odd-sounding names and odd-colored passport (yellow).

Thats what they say, I mean whats more intriguing a mistranslation or a alternative universe? how good was the Taured man Japanese? how knowledgeable were the Haneda airport personnel on Europe post WWII geography? Most cities in Europe are 1000 years old (some more some less). I go for the most plausible explanation. The mistranslation.

It's not about intrigue factors. It's about the facts and details. It doesn't seem like you are familiar with the whole story.

The guy was fluent in French and Japanese too.

Well, if you claim we are not familiar enough with it, please enlighten us - where is all of this properly documented?

Probably in Tokyo. They just don't wanna talk about it.
