Planet Nine's profile fleshed out

Astrophysicists have outlined what Planet Nine might be like - if indeed it exists.

In January, researchers at Caltech in the US suggested a large, additional planet might be lurking in the icy outer reaches of the Solar System.

Now, a team at the University of Bern in Switzerland has worked out what they say are upper and lower limits on how big, bright and cold it might be.

The study has been accepted by the journal Astronomy and Astrophysics.

Essentially planetary fanfiction.

It is true that the conclusions of these scientists are speculative, but that is entirely different from fiction. They have used what is known about the conditions in the Kuiper Belt and what is known about planetary formation to deduce a likely make up of this hypothetical planet. Being hypothetical it may be wrong, the planet may not exist, the planet may not have formed in that region and may have migrated, the planet may even be a captured exoplanet. No of these possibilities negates the good science used to deduce this hypothetical planets potential make up.

If deductive reasoning were fiction no police force in the world would ever get a conviction.

I think you're looking into my post too deeply. ;)
