They had to because like half the Indian Army are Sikhs. They don't want a riot over something that happened in the US.

Oh sure we can make it impossible for all our law abiding citizens to get guns but guess what the criminals and idiots will still get them.  India needs worry about their own laws.

I know that the same suggestion was made by President Calderon a few months ago. He made some of the following statements:
  • It’s an established fact in any society, noted Calderon, that the level of violence is directly related to the number of guns in circulation. And, while drug competition among cartels had existed in Mexico for many years, the level of violence began to escalate in 2004 — the same year that the U.S. ban on assault weapons expired.
  • the Mexican military had seized more than 140,000 weapons, most of them assault rifles, and the vast majority of them purchased in the United States and smuggled south across the border.
  • discovered 8,000 American gun shops along the border with Mexico.
I don´t necessarily agree with all of those statements (particularly the first) but to think that American gun policies and output of the weapons industry don´t have any effect on anyone other countries may be a little myopic.

Calderon is full of crap, of course he said it, violence came right after his war on drugs. he created the violence.
he conveniently forgot to mention thousands deserters from Mexican army, that took guns with them., and not just mexico alone. they ran away to work for cartels.
full auto short barrel rifles that cartels use aren't sold here legally to  just anyone, those that have such permit will not buy thousands and smuggle, it is a myth, obama and holder sent thousands of nfa guns to cartels. proven fact.
discovered 8000 arms shops, lol so what those are legal guns stores. yea there are plenty in TX and AZ alone.

well, can't argue, yes it does affect neighbors, but hey i got simple solution, pass a law that makes smuggling guns illegal, or guard your border.

yes some guns do come from us to Mexico, it is stupid to deny, but it is piss in the ocean.  and it would be even smaller if it wasn't for fast and furious.

Actually Mexico has pretty strict gun laws. And I think you should know where there is a will there is a way. Stopping the flow of arms and or drugs is something that neither country has been very good at. And Fast & Furious was just the tip of the iceberg and it was very fortunate it was uncovered in the early stages by some good independent journalism. A LOT of guns in Mexico come from the US. I wouldn´t say it is piss in the ocean. I mean c´mon 8,000 gun stores located along the border! Where do you think the majority are going?

I predict we will hear of another "lone wolf" shooting very soon in the US. It seems that its on someones agenda to get rid of guns. They need people who want to keep their guns unregulated not to have a leg to stand on in this argument.

i know there is only 1 legal gun store in Mexico, you almost can,t legally have a gun there,
yes thank you, stopping smugglers isn't easy, no matter what you do, you will  not catch all. black market is a strong entity.

those 8000 shops sell guns to Americans, mostly, they aren't allowed by law to sell to anyone but us citizens and legal residents. actually having been to both states i saw many pawn shops that sell, and pawn guns, i bet those are in 8000 number as well, but they don't sell nfa guns.  Pistols, rifles, nothing military. even if they did, their stock depends on ppl that bring their to pawn or sell, they don't come in crates from manufacturers.

tens of thousands Mexican solders desert army and take guns with them, half is accounted fore other half isn't. where do you think they are?  cartels need ppl more than guns, since they get killed by thousands a month. deserters are exactly what they need, they got army guns and training. not to mention every nfa weapon in USA is strictly controlled, as in tx as in ny. so it just doesn't add up. we aren't talking about pistols and hunting rifles, full auto nfa guns are not obtained easy.

cartels don't need to smuggle guns into Mexico, they have guns and cannon meat come to them. and looking at the numbers there is no shortage of them.
