An Australian man has been remanded in custody after police found him driving without a steering wheel.

The 38-year-old was pulled over in the Adelaide suburb of Gilles Plains on Monday morning for dangerous driving with two blown tyres.

On closer inspection police discovered that the white Holden sedan was being controlled with a set of pliers, which had been attached to the steering column.

Vise grips not pliers...and with power assisted steering they would theoretically work....but not at speed or on the road.

Still..it takes a bit of skill to do something like that.

But it makes me wonder if this guy ever entertained the concept that he'd be pulled over eventually for something.

Then again, what WAS he thinking to begin with?

If he could of steered the vehicle without using Vise-Grips, the police might have let him go because they would of been so damn amazed.
