The Australian Quanat has been Captured

Someone sent me this in my email, what do you guys think?

Melbourne, Australia (Reuters) -- A mysterious creature, dubbed the "Quanat" by the residents of rural Victoria, Australia has allegedly been captured by the armed forces, Thursday.

"We received a report at about 3 am, Thursday morning, of bright lights illuminating the sky over Dandenong mountains." said Senior Constable Arthur McBain. "At first we thought it was a prank call, but within minutes the switchboard was going haywire. We dispatched a patrol car to the area and confirmed the report, but all roads into the area had already been blocked by the Army".

Although the Australian army has neither confirmed nor denied the capture of the Quanat and have not made a press release, witnesses in the area say that they saw hundreds of bright lights in the area after hearing a loud explosion. We also have three witnesses who said that they saw Australian Air Force fighter jets shooting into the lights.

"I was outside in my yard, closing my garage door after working on my Ute, and I heard this whopping explosion," said witness James Crocker amidst a crush of reporters. "It shook the ground and the whole garage rattled. I thought it was the end of the world. Then all these lights started flashing and moving around in the sky. But I don't know if they were planes or what, because the clouds were in the way. The lights were moving fast, like, they were busy, real busy looking. Then this jet came rocketing over my house and started shooting bullets. I could see the bullets coming out. They were definitely bullets. Then Another jet came past, and the lights disappeared."

Other witnesses who live nearby say they saw what they believe to have been a crash landing. The witness are currently unavailable for comment and are believed to have been escorted to Laverton Air base, west of Melbourne, by military police. However, we've been contacted by one family member who was on the phone to his brother at the time, who purportedly saw the crash in a paddock.

"I was on the phone to my brother and he yelled out at the top of his lungs, "There's a crash, a crash. There's a crash!," said the witness' brother. "My brother said that he saw this tall, thin figure running across a paddock between his house and the crash site. He said, 'I don't know what the [expletive] it is, It's not human!' He said that there were lights everywhere. He was on the phone for a while, as the whole thing was happening. There were Jets flying past, and lights. He told me that there were helicopters flying over his house. The last thing he told me is that a military helicopter was landing in his front yard. I heard that. Then there was a whole heap of yelling and that's the last thing I heard from my brother."

In recent months, rural Victoria has been subject to dozens of reports by witnesses who say they've seen lights in the sky. Others in the area have reported seeing, at a distance, tall, shadow like, spindly creatures.

Strangely, these events occur at a time when there has been a recent escalation of disappearances in the area. Seventeen people have been reported missing since September 2005, but only one has been found; Vanessa McCarney of Altona Meadows, who was taken into a police station wearing only a coat, provided by an elderly man and woman who took her in. Vanessa did not say a word to either the couple that brought her to the police station, or the police. Vanessa is now believed to be under observation in an undisclosed military hospital.

Has anyone else gotten this or heard about it?

A ute is short for "coupé utility", it is our equivalent of the North American pickup truck.

I have lived at the Dandenong ranges, and never saw any UFOs whilst there. However over the past 10 years, I have seen, on two different occasions UFOs in the area, and also a recent reporting that was published in The Sunday Herald Sun Newspaper on the 15th. November 2004. My Friend Alf was at the hospital there with his wife having their first child, and he witnessed these UFOs at about 9:30pm on the Friday nite 13/11/04.

There are lots of reports about UFOs in this area, but I have not heard about what you describe here, which is strange due to my monitoring for this type of information constantly. :tu:

hmm if something like that happened with jets flying around shooting things it would've made it all over the news here

Good point, i suppose they may depending on where exactly the UFO is flying, but then again this "happened" in the Dandenong Ranges so i find it hard to understand exactly why they would shoot at it and create a warzone in a remote location like that especially where sightings are common.

This sounds a lot like that tv movie, Special Repoprt" about meteors falling to Earth that were actually space ships. The whole thing was done in the fashon of a news broadcast. It ended with the end of hte world.
