Saru Posted January 1, 2003 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2003 It looks as though the server on which our chat room ( #unexplained ) is hosted, will be shutting down for good on the 12th January. ChatNet was an excellent IRC server, it was fast, reliable and very stable, and had friendly staff and good support. The announcement on the decision to close the server can be found HERE. This coming Sunday will be the last chat to be held on ChatNet's server. After that, I will need to find a new IRC server on which to host the chat room, at the moment I have some ideas, but I will be checking out various possibilities to find out which server suits our needs the best. Saru Posted January 5, 2003 Author #6 Share Posted January 5, 2003 Update: It looks as though there is a chance that ChatNet won't be shutting down after all: Its been recently announced that ChatNet is closing as of 12/01/2003...However we are currently holding talks about this and will let everyone know as soon as possible the outcome of this decision at the moment its looking positive but nothing conclusive.
