UM-Bot Posted August 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2015 http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/images/newsitems/senatortree.jpg Mark Dohle: I was at Vina for three days when Bernard gave me a tour of the grounds around the Monastery. As we drove around he pointed out the trees, some being very old. He then pointed to a small group of trees, large ones or so it seemed to me. Then he told me that they were 400 year old Redwood trees. I had a sudden change of perspective and instead of seeing them as rather large trees and ancient; I saw them as being young and small, far from the height that they would reach if they ever lived out their many millennium long growth. This is the first time I saw a Redwood tree that was not a Bonsai, so it was quite an experience for me.View: Full Article
Still Waters Posted August 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2015 Nice article Mark. I think when we reach a certain age we just have to go with the flow and hope for the best regarding our health and mental state. I've seen both sides of this coin and it's not very pretty. We tend not to think that bad things can happen to us or our loved ones and if they do it hits us hard. After having a recent health scare which was a nightmare for all concerned I'm just thankful to be sitting here typing this with a clean bill of health. Long may it continue because I'll take old age any day and I'm not ready to go just yet!
