I understand that ignorance can induce fear, and do agree that testing should be done to Proove GM foods are safe. But you do know that humans are not insects, right? There are lots of chemicals (poisons) that kill insects and do absolutely nothing to mammals.

If testing shows a GM plant is dangerous, then sure, ban it. But banning GM out of ignorant fear is just so Torch-bearing-mob mentalitiy.

You are not, you are within your perfect right to buy the kind of stuff that you know how, where and with what it is grown. Just when they have to pay $2 for a ear of corn with traceable origin most go to Target Walmart and get the 50 cent special offer. If nobody would buy the stuff nobody would plant it.

I think it was Walmart that started selling GMO ear corn last summer, not Target. It was kind of a to-do since it was the first time it happened.

I love it when the corn is ready for picking...luckily, I can get corn from the field with the farmers permission,
Got to France and get all the walnuts I need to, with the majors permission.
But you are so right, I go to the farm shop only because I can, many in the inner cities do not even know what a farm shop looks like, I didn`t til I moved.
But saying that, I do not want all the inner city dwellers moving out here, we just haven`t got the room and what with the population growths, our local farmer can only give away a small amount of corn and I doubt the some of the city dwellers would even know what to do with it if it did not come wrapped in cellophane.

That's all fine and dandy, but people should be able to know right on the spot if something is a GMO or not. It should be labeled, should it not?

But I would rather she ate more home cooking..  I try all sorts of good meals to cook..  I make home-made good lean burgers too that I copy from a recipe site... I love making soups and a good balanced meal...Fish, beef, chicken, lamb, pasta, pork and veg dishes. .I will try doing as many as I can ..I cook them and blend them up for my baby boy and he likes them too..
I never would begrudge my family other things they like.. My hubby loves a cold beer with some meals and Becky loves to tuck into a chocolate muffin and some other sweet things, but I do get them to eat good food...

The GMO industry has fought tooth and nail to not have to disclose the presence of GMO in everyday products. Unless you hvae access to specialist shops (and lots of money) you do not have access to GMO free foods or the information to choose them.

To me this is horrifically wrong for products which have largely been self certificated as been safe by their producers. There are serious doubts, back by science, as to the long term safety of these products. This is a definiate case of where the lobbying of the Industry has perverted the purposed of the FSO. Should we be surprised when there is a revolving door between the FSO and Monsanto.

My great grand parents lived on the shores of Lough Erne and mainly ate home grown veg, a bit of meet (mostly white), and fresh fish caught from the lake - topped off with home baked soda bread and home made Jam. They both lived to be over a 100 and that was back in the 70's that they eventually left us.
My grandparents ate more meat and more cakes and werent as health as their parents and both died in their 70's.
My parents are much less healthy with my mum been obsess and having IBS and may Dad having a slow acting cancer. They eat a very unhealthy diet. They will be lucky to make it to their 70's.

This is the decline in health which a changing diet has brought to modern people.

We are reversing the trend and eating a healthy home cooked vegetarian diet, but we have access to far more processed carbohydrates.

GMO's getting into hydrogenated corn syrup. A product impossible to avoid if you shop in a store at all is a big fear. And labeling would allow choice. So to me that is the acts of the NWO. It is not or will not be isolated to a USA problem.

Labeling would be so simple. They even make McDonalds...of which Moms daughter is fond of there toys disclose the calorie count of each of there menu items now. But yet GMO's are allowed to progress into society until they are fully integrated then we will hear. It is too late to change anything. So sorry we should have labeled. Then the labels will appear and we will see how badly we were dupped. Then the long term side effects will be discovered.

Perhaps it will be for naught. But as a human race we had a right.

When I spoke about my great aunt who lived until she was nearly 107 years old, she died only a few years ago.. She ate cakes and meat along with veg... She baked cakes running her own bakery... She took cod liver oil every day  and took a small dosage of aspirin once or twice a week..  Small dosages of aspirin can prevent heart attacks and other life threatening diseases..  Not everyone back then knew this...

You can find many info on line to read up on it and see what you think yourself.. Like I said,  only your doctor  can give the best advice.. I personally wouldn't take it every day , just once a week..I had spoken with my doctor about this and I have had a few clots, so I was advised to take a low dosage every now and again to thin the blood, but told not to over do it.. it can cause harm if you do... It is always best to speak to any doctor....A doctor will inform you that aspirin effects can vary in different people. so it is only wise to check all with a doctor you trust...      In saying that my great aunt would have sworn by it...along with cod liver oil, she took with a table spoon every day.. ( Yuck ) ..Along with lots of water...  Everyone is different...

Splicing genes into organisms when you barely understand how the genetic code works is madness. It has been shown repeatedly that the simplistic notion that a gene maps to a single protein or enzyme is not adequate. Every part of genome has multiple functions which interact with multiple other genes. Tinkering with things you don't understand and then releasing them into the food chain is criminal.
