As Head of State, Queen Elizabeth II has the power to dissolve the parliaments of all of the 16 countries over which she reigns: Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
And there is a precedent for this. The Queen dissolved Australia's parliament in 1975.
More recently, the Queen dissolved Canada's parliament THREE times between 2008 and last year.
But they HAVEN'T "shown her the finger", have they? The last time I checked they all have Queen Elizabeth II as their Head of State. So she has the power to dissolve those countries' parliaments.
