In a serious question, to the regulars here since I guess the OP is gone: WHY would someone want to kill the crossroads demon? Is this a known thing or is this related only to Supernatural, which I never watched? I know of the old Geothe stuff but ... is that what this is about, or what?

I feel like this is mainly from supernatural. From the limited amount of knowledge on crossroad mythology I have it seems to be a one off. People went there to worship and seek deals not kill whatever resided there.

So I think SWOH hit the nail on the head the only plausible reason seems to be you don't want to pay your dues. I also thought that maybe someone sees them self as a "holy" warrior and plans to cleanse the world of evil, but that seems like kind of a stretch.

It's sad they don't make games like they used to where you were required to go kill a real crossroad demon to win. Maybe that's why we don't see them much any more?

I think you have to be at least a level 32 cleric in order to cast divine lightening. That should do the trick.
