Triniant Posted April 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2004 (edited) Satellite photos of Mount Aratat, Turkey taken by commercial imaging satellite company Digital Globe released today are said to contain proof of the existence of the biblical Noah's Ark.The images, revealed at a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. (see left), are said to reveal a man-made structure at the site where the Bible states the vessel came to rest. The claim was made by Daniel P. McGivern, president of Shamrock -- The Trinity Corporation, who according to a press release has been searching for the Ark for several years. The first pictures of the site were taken by the U.S. Air Force in 1949. The images allegedly revealed what seemed to be a structure covered by ice, but were held in a confidential file labeled “Ararat Anomaly” for years. In 1997, the government released several of these images, but experts deemed them inconclusive.McGovern's is not the first satellite search for the Ark. In 2002, Porcher Taylor, a senior associate (nonresident) at the prominent think tank, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C., also requested satellite imagery of the area to see if the mythical vessel truly existed. The summer of 2003 provided a great opportunity to take a new series of photographs, according to the release, because it was the hottest summer in Europe since 1500. This caused a massive meltdown on Mount Ararat. McGivern used DigitalGlobe’s Quick Bird satellite to collect a new set of satellite images.According to the press release, McGivern has put together a team of scientists, archaeologists and forensic experts to excavate the object and collect samples beginning in August of this year. “These new photos unequivocally show a man made object,” McGivern is quoted as saying. “I am convinced that the excavation of the object and the results of tests run on any collected samples will prove that it is Noah’s Ark.”The field manager for the excavation will be Dr. Ahmet Ali Arslan, a native of Turkey who has traveled up Mount Ararat 50 times in 40 years and formerly worked in the Turkey Prime Minister’s office. According to the release, Arslan plans to discuss the details of the excavation with the Prime Minister next week. Mishari Posted April 28, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 28, 2004 what evidence that they have to prove that it is Noah's Ark and why Noah's?? Can't it be just an Ark made by someone?
Scorpius Posted April 29, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Could this great flood have covered Atlantis which drove a man to build an ark and gather as much animals as he can... Does the story of Noah's Ark hold some truth afterall? We'll have to wait and see...
wunarmdscissor Posted April 29, 2004 #12 Share Posted April 29, 2004 There was a programme on BBC2 bout a month ago discounting this picture, which was strangely enough originally covered up by the CIA years ago. They had experts on saying that anything like an ark wouldve been pushed down the mountain due to glacier movement.

skepticalbeliever Posted May 1, 2004 #15 Share Posted May 1, 2004 I believe that this is a great discovery... this anomaly has brought out many opinions. i believe that it is the ark, and if it is proven to be the ark this would confirm all judeau christian beliefs, and inturn would begin a big change in the world as we know it today. of course there would always be skepticism, but for the most part would have a big impact on this worlds outcome... who knows it might spark a judeau christian revolution and be the beginning of the end of the world as prophecised in the bible. refuse the mark of the beast... Scorpius Posted May 1, 2004 #16 Share Posted May 1, 2004 Isn't the story of Noah's Ark, about a man and his family gathering the many animals of this earth into one huge ship--the ark. Then the family stayed in the Ark until the great flood of earth, that wiped out any other living thing on land, slowly died down. A raven and a dove were flown out to find land. The raven never returned but the dove came back with a twig. So, then Noah sailed his Ark towards land. This is how it goes, right? How can one man gather all the animals on earth into this Ark? There are thousands, if not millions, of species of animals on this earth. How can he have done this? He's no Charles Darwin. Unless he sailed across the flood onto other lands to rescue other animals... Anyways, if he did not rescue all the animals on earth, that one bit of the story, is false and overexaggerated, which truly makes it a tall-tale. ==== On a more convincing note... This story can be true to a point. If not all the land on earth was overwhelmed by the waters of the ocean, there may have been other lands that have been left alone. The people who would have only been struck by the great flood were those living in Europe, Africe, and Asia. This leaves parts of North America, South America, and Australia alone. The Natives (people) of these lands would have been left alone to survive; they were not part of the chaos and destruction that was held in the other three main continents. Brennan.
