Well the draft is a few days away and training camp will be here before you know it. :st

Here are my top 10 picks for the draft. What do you guys think?

Tampa = Jameis Winston

Titans= Leonard Williams

Raiders= Marcus Marriota

Redskins= Amari Cooper

Jets= Melvin Gordon

Bears= Andrus Peat

Falcons= Vic Beasley

Giants= Kevin White

Rams= Devante Parker

Not sure the Titans keep the 2nd pick.

Hope Cooper goes to a team with a real QB.

Maroita may go to the raiders, but wouldn't if ole Al was still around. Al preferred the long ball and Mariota is more a short to intermediate range passer IMO (which is why I think Titans trade pick because Whisenhunt likes to go deep also).

Williams will be a stud where ever he goes.

I think Gurley will be the 1st RB taken.

Raiders will take a WR with their first pick.

One that real teams wouldn't touch before round five.

Well I see it is business as usual for Goodell. Jets get $100,000 fine for tampering while NE does not get fined. Jets owner said he would "love to have Darrelle back" while Revis was still under contract with the Pats. Pats owner said that he wished Revis "was still with us" after he signed with the Jets.

Also see where the NFL has decided to give up their tax-exempt status, which they have had since 1942. Why, you may wonder? Because in order to keep the exemption the NFL had to make public the salaries of their highest paid employees. This is how we found out that Goodell made $44,000,000 last year, in large part due to Pats owner Robert Kraft, who sits on the three man committee that determines the commissioners salary. Now they can keep his salary secret. So they would rather pay taxes than let the public know how much he makes. Wonder if Kraft will engineer another massive raise (Goodell already makes more than double the previous commissioners salary) for letting the Pats cheat their way to another Super Bowl?

Does anyone here watch the draft? I don't really. I will click to it from time to time to see who teams may have drafted, but that is it.

I just watched the first 3 picks and I couldn't take any more even though I'm a fan of the NFL.

I have never seen a draft where the first 2 picks weren't even on the stage. The good part was I didn't have to watch the comish hug them.

It was on while I was doing other things. Only one BAMA player taken in the first round. Ends the streak of having multiple players taken in 1st round.

My Falcons shored up their defense with Beasley.

My Dolphins added a WR.

So far I'm pleased with their picks.

Was I hearing things or did Goodell call Mariota "Marioto"? Really commish?

Well the final count is in: 45 players from the 2011 BAMA-LSU games were drafted!! And some people thought they were boring? Just a lot of talent, mainly on defense, between those teams.

Only 5 Ohio State Buckeyes taken in the draft.

Oregon only had 5 as well. 10 total for the National Champion and runner up.

Ohio States 3 QB's and RB are returning. I believe all three QB's may well end up drafted, with Miller as the least likely right now, IMO. Also Elliot would have been drafted if he had declared for the draft.

The QB position isn't a problem for them, that's for sure. QB for the future looks good too. They have commitments from two 4+ star recruits.

Not sure who the starter will be this year. Many think Miller because he is the senior. Not sure how Meyer works with these types of situations. It's amazing that he got all 3 Heismann potential QB's to stay.

If it were me, I'd start Cardale and use the other 2 in certain situations. They really can't go wrong with any of them.

All things being equal I'd probably start JT. I'd try to get Braxton to move to TE/H-back. Tell 12-gauge that it is his team next year.

Well surprise, surprise, surprise. The NFL investigation into deflategate found that Brady was probably involved. While it clears Belicheat and Kraft, who really believes that these employees did what Brady said to do without checking with at least the head coach first. Besides that, in bountygate the commish said that although there wasn't proof Sean Payton knew about bountgate that "he should have known". Same logic applies to Belicheat. Payton was suspended for a year, so Belicheat should get at minimum the same. As for Brady, I'd say a lifetime ban is in order, ala Pete Rose.

Might need to. Sorry but I can't abide cheaters and liars. Don't like people that steal either. Integrity is very important to me. I was raised not to lie, cheat, or steal. Thought most folks were. After listening to sportswriters make excuses for Brady, or claim that lying and cheating don't hurt his legacy, I realize that many people are not raised this way. I may not have much but I have my integrity. Brady has a lot, but no integrity.

-4 games for Tom Brady, -$1 million and -2 future draft picks for New England. The hammer has come down.

Pretty small hammer if you ask me. I suspect it'll be reduced.

This is now multiple offenses by the same team.

This is intentional cheating.

This is an attempted cover up. Caught lying. If I lied to my boss, I'd be fired.

This is Tom Brady refusing to cooperate with the investigation.

If the NFL really wants to stop people from cheating go with draconian penalties. Just like if the NHL really wanted to stop fighting they would increase the punishment to half a season first offense and lifetime ban for the second. Poof, no more fighting. MLB wasn't really serious about stopping steroid use for a long time because the home runs were bringing in the fans. When they decided to get serious about it they hammered Braun, A-Rod, etc. IIRC it is now 50 games then a lifetime ban.

I agree Myles, it was a slap on the wrist. Lance Armstrong was banned for life and had his titles stripped from him, as was right!

Good comparison. Some would argue "a couple lbs of air pressure wouldn't make that much of a difference".

To that I say - Then why go through the trouble of doing it? You know you are breaking the rules. You do it anyway. You get caught. You lie. You continue to lie. The effect doesn't matter. In baseball, I would punish a guy caught with a corked bat even if he struck out. It's the attempt to deceive the fans, the other team, your own team and the league itself.

Add that this is not the first time for the Pats. I would be OK with less punishment for Brady and more for the organization. I think that helps teams make the right choice before signing a questionable character. Would the Cowboys have signed Hardy if they knew that they were responsible for fines and such if he were to get into trouble?

Now they are claiming that when McNally said he was the "deflator" he was referring to him trying to lose weight. Damn their arrogance, do they really think we are all that gullible?

Didn't Kraft say just last week that the Pats would accept the punishment. Now he wants to fight it. Does anyone with that organization have at least a small amount of integrity?

I wish the NFL would revise their punishment in light of the above and increase the games suspended to at least 8, the fine to 2 Mil, and take more draft picks.

Inside Slant: NFL-NFLPA: Still crazy after all these years

Here they are. Again. Fighting over the same thing: Exactly how far-reaching are NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's disciplinary powers? Nearly four years into their current collective bargaining agreement, neither the NFL nor the NFL Players Association will let it go -- to the detriment of everyone.

The NFLPA revealed the latest salvo Friday in its appeal of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's four-game suspension. It argued first that Goodell violated the CBA by designating the discipline to executive vice president Troy Vincent. It then took a creative stab at its habitual attempt to impose a neutral party over Goodell's right to designate the appeal officer. (By calling Goodell as a witness in the hearing, the NFLPA argued, he must recuse himself as the arbitrator.)

Good Point! What really upset me was Brady's insistence that he could feel no difference in his equipment. Most athlete's know instantly if there is something that doesn't feel right about their equipment, and pros - doubly so as they are quite particular about what Balls, Bats, etc. they use!
