Giza and Earth Dimensions

GS1

Recommended Posts

Distance from G1 SE corner to G2 SW corner = 1252.61830327475 RC. 1/2 earth's polar radius = 1251.0432 British inches. So it would be exact if the inch was actually 0.998742551 as long as it is.

Distance from same SE corner of G1 to G3 SE corner (a line which is very close to also touching G2 SE corner on its way to G3 SE corner) is 1774.90102438558 RC. 1/2 the straight line distance from an earth pole to its equator (not a curved line on the earth's surface) = 1772.41261253013 British inches. The inch would have to be 0.998598 inches for it to be accurate. A foot would have to be 11.983176 inches.

So we have here evidence that the British inch is related to the RC in some way.

There was such a thing as the "Egyptian foot",

If there is some doubt about the exact value of the Egyptian royal cubit, practically all scholars agree that the Egyptian foot had a value of 300 mm.

300 mm is 11.811". That is extremely close to the 11.983176 inches mentioned in my post. They may have divided it into 6ths, as they did with the cubit. Since I stated that the distances at Giza were 1/2 the earth dimensions, if each cubit represented 2 inches instead of 1 then the RC would be one of those 2 inch units in the earth dimensions scaled down by 1000. Only problem with this is that the Egyptians actually divided their foot into 4ths instead of 6ths.

Mesopotamian feet of 300 mm are divided into three hands of 100 mm and 15 digits Egyptian feet of 300 mm are divided into four palms of 75 mm and 16 digits.

However, it also says;

The Greeks had derived their Pous from ancient Mesopotamian standards of measure which were essentially sexigesimal. The Egyptians had derived their bd or foot from the same source but converted the great cubit of 6 hands and 600 mm that the Mesopotamian system was based on from a sexigesimal system divided into 6 hands of 100 mm to a septenary system with a royal cubit of 525 mm divided into 7 palms of 75 mm.

Maybe in the 4th Dynasty they still used the Mesopotamian foot of 3 hands. The RC would then be half of a hand of earth dimensions divided by 1000.

In the first post "1/2 earth's polar radius = 1251.0432 British inches" should have read " 1/2 earth's polar radius in British inches divided by 100,000 = 1251.0432 British inches."
