Still Waters Posted July 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2014 The mythology of spirit doubles can be traced back thousands of years and was present in many cultures of the past, holding a prominent place in ancient legends, stories, artworks, and in books by various authors. Perhaps the most well-known reference to spirit doubles or 'alter egos' is the doppelganger, a word still used today to refer to a person that is physically or behaviourally similar to another person. http://www.ancient-o...-001825#!bbGMvV

magikgoddess Posted July 17, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 17, 2014 I have yet to see my doppelganger, however I used to be a waitress and currently work at a motel and have had strangers tell me I look exactly like so & so from back home and wonder if I'm related to that person- so far the answer has been no. It would be neat to run into someone who could possible pass off as a 'twin'...
SSilhouette Posted August 3, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) A person who looks like you is not a double or doppleganger. A doppleganger is a living apparition of the actual you that often will fade or suddenly disappear from sight. I've had mine seen mulitiple times a few years back when I was having serious health issues and was ill for a very long time. Fatigue and illness often accompany the sighting of someone's doppleganger. It's like they're near death but not quite. http://www.unexplain...topic=232445= Edited August 3, 2014 by SSilhouette
jesspy Posted August 4, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 4, 2014 I will have to kill my doppelganger before he kills me. Once you do, you will become the ONE! Or is that just for multi universe you? I saw my brothers doppelganger or whatever you call it a few years back. At the time my brother was at a friends house and planned to walk home. I was sitting in the lounge and I looked out the window and then I saw him walk up the street to the door and I heard a knock. I went to go let him in and he wasn't there. I sat down in the lounge again thinking I was crazy. I looked out the window and there he was again walked up the street to the door, did the same knock and this time he called out my name. I went to open the door and it was my brother.
