shrooma Posted March 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) 'there's someone on the doorstep with a button in his hand. all this 'western culture', has blown apart his land. until we make concessions with the way it's all been planned, his hate for us is something we'll never understand. we advertise democracy, then offer it for sale, but the price goes through the roof, much like the bombs if payment fails.... to pay the interest on the loans to build some factories, and extra jobs for the boys back home as burger franchees. . so when your nation's starving, 'cause the wages that we pay means you can't afford the food they cook 12hrs a day, or wear the shoes they make so our teenagers can look 'cool' we'll keep the cycle going until your military rule. . and then, my friend, the arms we've got will cost you more than debt. an everlasting friendship that we won't let you forget. . all this global enterprise truly goes two ways- you give us your resources -we'll give you bigger chains. . it's a war against war against war. with words about words about words on a wall. stances taken. dealers shaking hands on the arms deal, 'here's some more!' money exchanges, there goes the wages- there go the jobs, and here come the poor. white men trade, and we all get slaves making the trainers we can't afford.... . we look to the sky when we want to know why. we look to the ground when we get 'profound' 'here comes a plane' to deliver again and we get to our knees and pray that it's food. nobody explained, who didn't have a suit on and nobody complained 'cause we didn't understand. we're more worried about the rains and where to get some food from- they may say they're running the country- but it's us living off the land.... . we saw the ad, and bought the box. and saw the ad, and lots of clocks and ties. and tightness. so much tightness. but the money key fits all the locks. importation ran amok when all his greed escaped the box. we learned to yearn for more than what we needed- and then the value dropped..... . we took for granted all we had. but prices only raised the cost of living without joining in such soul degrading culture loss. so then we had to fight to save ourselves from losing proper jobs, then fight again to get the ones where corporations were our boss. you'd recognise the name- as it's on your t-shirt and your socks or skyward, advertising gas on baseball caps in parking lots. shrooma Posted March 10, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted March 10, 2013 Very nice thanks for posting . dude, I was editing it as I was coming up with it, in case it wiped it out, and it's a good job I did, as it's wiped out the last half of it, but the edit button has buggered off! it seems some UM moderator doesn't care for anti-political/anti-war poetry..... :-(
shrooma Posted March 10, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) (here's the back end coolguy) . business rang the business man who rang around and said 'here's the plan: we'll use up everything we can, then raise the price and get some more. overseas, where by degrees, their leaders carry guns. I see dictatorships, and poverty, and what we're looking for. oil and aid? a fair exchange. yet all these guns get in the way. well, I flipped a coin, and either way, it's time to go to war. . now i've just my anger left, to keep me half alive. but below that 50/50 line, it's worthless to survive. and worth the chance of an afterlife? of peace and silent nights? there's just one thing I have to say and do before I die.... . this is what you get for forcing us to buy your 'civilisation'- war is the global empty face of loss and its retaliation..... Tutankhaten-pasheri Posted March 10, 2013 #7 Share Posted March 10, 2013 so when your nation's starving, 'cause the wages that we pay means you can't afford the food they cook 12hrs a day, or wear the shoes they make so our teenagers can look 'cool' we'll keep the cycle going until your military rule. You have seen through all the lies and obfuscations to reality. Marx wrote about workers of the world uniting because they had nothing to loose except their chains. In 19th century he was not wrong. But now we have a different slavery. The cheap third world labour is the most obvious. Though there is a more subtle kind of slavery, the slavery to the latest gadget or fashion, that results in the cheap third world labour. A cycle of self perpetuating and almost self imposed slavery. Yet so many will think only of themselves and turn a blind eye to were their cheap clothes and food comes from. Well, perhaps a closer look at the food now.......
