Nxt2Hvn Posted December 5, 2003 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2003 These two stories are just sickening!!! I don't have any children myself... but gosh... what I would give to string these people up by their eyelids and beat them!!!! 6-year-old confined to clothes dryer Toronto Star | Submitted by: Lydia "An Ottawa woman has been convicted of locking a 6-year-old girl in a clothes dryer, where the girl ate, slept, urinated and defecated, for weeks at a time. Ontario Court Judge James Fontana, who heard the case over 24 days spread over more than two years, convicted the 41-year-old woman of forcibly confining the girl in the dryer and failing to provide the necessities of life for a child. The girl was in the woman's care because the child's biological mother was unfit to handle the troublesome youngster. The girl is now back with her biological mother." Linnk Child starved, beaten, killed CNN | Submitted by: plick "An 11-year-old girl's parents tied her up in the garage, starved the child and beat her with an umbrella until she died during the Thanksgiving holiday, police said. The sixth-grader tried to escape her home in Stockbridge just south of Atlanta, but she was only punished more severely - she was left without food, water, a bathroom or a bed, police said. The girl's father, 37-year-old Rodney Michael Reaves, and her stepmother, 38-year-old Charlott Lynett Reaves, were arrested Monday and charged with felony murder and cruelty to children. The girl, Joella Reaves, was beaten over her entire body with an umbrella and paddle for several days, according to the arrest warrant. Her cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma." babyforrest Posted December 5, 2003 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2003 This world isn't coming to anything, as it has been this way since the beginning of time. Some people are psychopaths, and if they are left untreated this is the result. The only thing we can do is live our lives the best we can and hope for the same for everyone else. As Billy Joel once said, "We didn't start the fire. It was always burning, since the world's been turning. And when we are gone, it will still burn on and on and on."
