Guards thought there was something suspicious about a little white cat slipping through a prison gate in northeastern Brazil.
A prison official says that when they caught the animal, they found a cellphone, drills, small saws and other contraband taped to its body.

LOL, smart **** who said 'it will be hard to discover who is responsible since the cat does not speak'!!!

Poor kitty, I hope they didn't hurt it taking the items off of it.

Meowsers! What's the penalty for that in Brazil? Nine life years in a kitty purrenitentiary?

Seriously though, I hope they didn't hurt the cat either. Love cats.......

I've seen documentaries on South American prisons. They have rats, cats and monkeys roaming around some of them. The guards are usually only paid to make sure the prisoners don't escape, they don't care so much what goes on inside and usually never enter.

But yeah, hopefully the cat is fine.

The cat may have an affection for a particular prisoner would be my guess.

This version of the story on Yahoo! UK & Ireland has a video showing the guards peeling everything off the cat. The cat doesn't seem to be struggling, but I'm sure tape was involved somewhere along the way to attach everything to it. Poor thing. :(

Yeah, that might work. I'd be surprised if they didn't try it. You would see a scattering of prisoners because they wouldn't want the cat headign to them! :w00t:
