  • We are much more than we seem to be. :)

According to the doomsayers, THE END will occur at the solstice in about 8 hours from now.

For me, that would be at 6:11 a.m. tomorrow morning Toronto time.

I found a timer for it at timeanddate.com http://www.timeandda...own/maya?p0=250

I don't actually believe the world will end, but I thought it would be good to have a thread that counts down to the predicted time... :)

  • I might have been born yesterday but, I've been up all night.

Yeah, I found that site too. I love their disclaimer! "Please note that we do not endorse any apocalyptic claims."

I'm set. Spaghetti dinner, half a 6 pack and a mickey of Bacardi. Also have 2 DVD's to watch, '2012' by Roland Emmerich and '2012 Supernova' by Anthony Fankhauser, apparently the second one's not so good. Then again, neither was the first one.

Oh, 7 hours, 44 minutes, 22 seconds to go. :)

You better watch that 2012 movie, at least something will thrill you, heh.

Oh c'mon, how many 'end of the worlds' do you you get to experience?!

Oh yeah, I think I'm on 7 or 8 by now. Never mind.

Well, considering this only happens once every 26 thousand years, I'd say it's something worth watching the sky for if I'm still awake.

Yeah, I know. With the whole 'end of the world' thing going on you'd figure they'd have a better time slot.

Oh yeah, the Cancun Doomsday Clock is off a bit. They say 5:11 am. It's actually closer to 5:11:37. So, at least there's that. :)

On December 22 a public execution by hanging of Jose Arguelles, the new age nutcase who started it all.

I never believed all that drivel, but the bad thing is that young kids actually committed suicide out of fear.

Now if all of you think it's over after today, a new date has already been published:

2014 AZ5 is the object which currently has the highest chance of impacting Earth in March of 2013,” said Quami Lochmo of the European Space Agency’s Solar System Missions Division in the Dutch city of Noordwijk.

“We are currently also in the process of making governments around the world aware of the situation,”  Lochmo said. “

The near-Earth asteroid 2014 Az5  has an impact probability of 1 in 125 for March 17, 2013, said Donald Lochmo.

This impact probability isn’t set in stone, however.  It can be changed slightly.

Anyone remember what was 'predicted' for 1981? I guess not.
