Letters to the Editor

Dear sirs:

As foul as it is to engage in the malignant and corrupt, it is just as low to be aware of them and not acknowledge it.

The revelation, recently, by University of Maryland emergency physician David Jerrard, that men presumably are so engrossed by sports that they will put off even going to the hospital for an emergency, so they can finish watching the next play, has obviously become something of a topic of attention. To be sure, it has sparked appreciation among those who want to think the worst of men in general and provided them propaganda. In point of fact, though, the "study" by Dr. Jerrard demonstrates less a supposed fatal fascination on the part of men with sports and more an evident deep-seated vein of connivery and wholesale deceit in the practice that calls itself "science".

The description Dr. Jerrard uses of his "method" in carrying out his "research" involves simply combing through hospital records to find out how men arriving for emergency care compared to breaks in sporting events, most notably, baseball, basketball, football and hockey. Jerrard’s “findings” presumably indicate that that 50 percent more men report to the emergency room after football games than during, and 40 percent after baseball games. The symptoms of those who checked in after the game were listed as “chest pains, abdominal pains, headaches and various injuries”.

Those who are automatically prejudiced against men will see these “findings” as attractive, but a closer examination demonstrates something far worse.

The very idea of someone sitting through serious and debilitating illness or injury is among the first indications of the illegitimacy of Jerrard’s “conclusion”. The significant variation in emergency room arrivals between football and baseball is also a key. And the patently flawed “method” demonstrates just how unreliable his statements are. Jerrard looked at the four hours after various games and compared emergency room arrivals with the same four hours on non-game days. Four hours is longer than most games! Anything could happen in that time that could send men to the emergency room, not just the sudden realization that they were in pain during the game! In fact, if they were in distress during the sporting event, after it was over, they would report immediately to the emergency room, not four hours later!

In fact, it seems that what Jerrard was measuring was men emulating plays they saw during the game, trying out the same plays in their backyards, reminiscing about games from their own past they considered more exciting, responding recklessly to heightened testosterone or adrenaline levels in their blood, or simply falling down from all the beer they drank during the game! Jerrard’s “findings” were not only evidently connivingly intended to garner undeserved attention and loyalty by a segment of the society that detests many men being so involved in sports, it also draws “conclusions” that fail to issue the appropriate warnings to “armchair athletes” about unwise behavior after a game! It is not only a petty attempt at self-aggrandizement, it also cheats those “armchair athletes” of advice that could protect them from injury!

But, then, it is not alone! It seems to join an ever increasing roster of apparently patently fraudulent “research” intended only to put a panache of “respectability” to pre-ordained programs, campaigns or initiatives spurred on by purely selfish, greedy motivations!

“Science” for sale to the highest bidder!

Criminal politicos interested in getting huge business for their hands-free cell phone businesses, as well as those seeking to hide their plundering of the public coffers through money from unethical traffic tickets, seem to have seized on the idea of depicting cell phone use while driving as leading to accidents. Crooked “scientists” cooperated by concocting a fraudulent “experiment” to “prove” that cell phone use contributes to accidents. Their unethical practice here involved “defining” cell phone use as “associated with an accident” if it occurred within ten minutes before the accident! Someone could have made a cell phone call from their home, then gotten in their car and been hit by a drunk driver and it would be deceitfully recorded as being “caused by use of the cell phone”!

It is becoming so apparently obvious that the earth’s weather is deteriorating steadily. One example is the frequency of tornadoes in the U.S. Before about 1950, there were a roughly constant 180 tornadoes every year. Since that time, however, they have grown constantly, so that, by 2000, there were about ten times as many tornadoes every single year as there were in the middle of the century! Drastically deceitful measures are necessary to hide this fact! One thing the crooks calling themselves “meteorologists” did was to shift emphasis from all tornadoes to just “severe tornadoes”, those of category 3 or higher. While the total number of tornadoes exploded in the past five decades, the number of category 5 tornadoes stayed roughly constant. They also introduced the concept not of tornado numbers but of “tornado days”. They simply count the number of days per year that have tornadoes. If a day has one or a million tornadoes, it counts as one “tornado day”. This way, no matter how bad the weather is, there can’t be more than 366 “tornado days” per year!

With disenfranchisement of decent citizens an apparent initiative for crooked government nation-wide, letting up on the heat for genuine criminals seems crucial. One way they are trying to accomplish this is through attempts at completely overturning the admissibility of eyewitness testimony. The apparent overwhelming reliability of eyewitness evidence seems to have prevented actual attacks on the overall capabilities of the practice of using eyewitnesses. An alternative many have chosen is fraudulent claims of “improving” eyewitness assertions. But the evident incompetence of the shills making these claims makes that unlikely. So they have chosen, instead, to claim not to increase the number of correct identifications but to “decrease the number of false identifications”. Focusing, for example, on photospread lineups, Gary Wells of Iowa State University made up spurious condemnations of the normal process of allowing the victim to leaf through photographs at their own speed and introduced the technique of having them have to stare intently at picture after picture, one at a time, spending five to fifteen minutes on each picture, without even being allowed to look at anyone else. At the end of the time, they are instructed to say who was the guilty party. The victim will already have been through an horrendous ordeal, and will likely be very tired. Forcing a staring contest for up to an hour at a sequence of unmoving pictures, five minutes or more at each picture, will at least wear them out, if not completely interfere with their recall! In the end, using Wells’ technique, almost no lineup ends in the victim being able to identify their assailant! They don’t tell you that, since it would reveal how flawed and criminally corrupt it is! It has always been the case that lineups have produced some false identifications; the new method “avoids misidentifications” not by improving the witnesses’ memory, but by simply making them fail to make any identification whatsoever! More criminals aren’t put away by this method, but fewer career crooks aren’t allowed to be falsely accused! And the crooked newspapers connivingly play along with this neat swindle by actually stating, unethically, that Wells “increases the number of correct identifications”!

And now, plans are emerging to replace the “seven wonder of the ancient world”. All but one of the seven wonders of the ancient world are still in existence; to boost tourism, by appealing to the dull-witted, who need to have something to walk around and take pictures of, www.New7Wonders.com is sponsoring a competition of sites to be declared the new ancient wonders of the world. Because they also seem to be aiming for the particularly insipid, to say nothing of droolingly cloddish, New7Wonders, which claims to be a “not for profit” organization but to be as deceitful in that as all the other “not for profits” swindles, is allowing such as The Eiffel Tower, the Sydney Opera House, in Australia and the Statue of Liberty to be considered! Basically, anything built or discovered before 2000 can be recommended! In order to spur tourism by the particularly gullible and dim-witted, New7Wonders is redefining “ancient” to mean anything more than six years old! No wonder kids today have no appropriate appreciation of life or the world!

And this is only the beginning. Fraudulent displays of non-science masquerading as legitimate, each concocted to allow corporate crooks to rape society more and more! And criminally actionable assaults on the public like fen-phen is only one result! It has gotten so that anything someone claiming to be a “scientist” tells you should not just be taken with a grain of salt but should be taken with a readiness to dismiss it as untrue from the very start! “Scientists”, it seems, are just as crooked and conniving as the politicians!

Just because someone wants to rape you doesn’t mean you are obligated to allow it!

To all:

Saint Macabre says this topic belongs in the "Conspiracies" not the "Current Events" section. But the "research" suggesting that men wait until the end of sporting events to see to their illnesses was announced just this past week, and the decision to define an entirely new set of "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World" was even mentioned on the home page for "Unexplained Mysteries". There is depth behind this, but these topics are in the news right now.

With respect to the idea of placing this subject in the "Conspiracies" section, though, that raises a plethora of important issues. Among other things, Saint Macabre's readiness to consign this to the section on conspiracies suggests that they see some conspiratorial qualities to it. But conspiracies are usually clandestine affairs. In fact, the "debunkers" quietly invoke the idea of a conspiracy being a hidden thing when they make their claim that "it would be impossible for so large a conspiracy to exist and no one reveal anything about it". They assume the conspiracy is there, hidden, and the fact that it remains hidden, even with all the people supposedly involved, indicates that it doesn't really exist, in the first place.

But this is all out in the open! The "reports" by the "researchers" are all readily available, they make no secret of the "methods" they use. Yet it does indeed seem to be a case of subversive complicity for criminal purpose. And yet, even such as Saint Macabre seems convinced that it is a conspiracy! A conspiracy right out in the open. Yet how many are even aware of it? Normally, the fact that so few realize the existence of the plotting would be used by "debunkers" as "proof" that it doesn't constitute a conspiracy, yet Saint Macabre, and no doubt others on the forum, would consider this a conspiracy!

Notice, too, that this practice of institutionalized deceit in "science" apparently involves even more people than are said to be in the chemtrail, Kennedy assassination or Oval Office engineered Spetember 11 conspiracies. And these individuals don't seem to feel in danger of being eliminated, execution style, by their fellows if they reveal what is happening. And yet, despite those huge numbers, and their safety if they "spill the beans", none of them has spoken out against the conspiracy!

Apparently, a conspiracy can exist right out in the open, involving huge numbers of individuals, and be protected only by the sheer, out-and-out greed of the conspirators! Something significant seems to be indicated here! The major collusions seem to be being carried out in light of day, with shills for the crooks ordering everyone not to believe what they see! Iraq is evidently a full-blown avalanche, taking a major portion of the Middle East down with it, yet the Oval Office keeps spinning the mealy-mouthed excuse that "Whenever you do something important, you have to expect some difficulties along the way!" It seems about time that people started to believe that what they see is what they see!

A conspiracy right out in the open.

Best place to hide one ;) ...

I also said it 'might' belong in the conspiracy section...

Never said it wasn't true...

BTW, Just out of curiousity, why did pick me specifically?...aside from the above post...
