When the bible was "put together" by the Yahwists priests in the 6th century BCE, they neglected to remove the multiple gods reference from the material they "lifted" from much older Semitic religions - Da Wolf

Yet it couldn't be a matter of their being unlearned, in the process of failing to omit the plural deific references. So then, maybe in the process of that lift, it was what they intended to say. Ye are gods. Didn't jesus say something akin to that. Like, haven't I told you ye are gods!? I can find the scripture if necessary, but I'm sure I read that in the new testament.

No, they were not unlearned, in that you are right. They were instead members of a religion that was transitioning from a polytheistic belief system to a semi-monotheistic belief system. They quite probably meant to leave the plural forms in their writings, later generations that made the final transition to the third monotheistic religion of the world simply neglected (or were afraid) to remove these plurals. Unlike Christian scribes, Jewish scribes were prohibited to "correct" the scriptures. - Da Wolf

Having a clear definition of what a god is would also help in this matter. To me it means that you will become like a god...as in obtaining the wisdom but not the power. I don't think this passage contradicts any beliefs.

it meant they would know wrong from right ........because the act of eating the fruit "not apple" would have marked their first sin ....disobedience.....

yes gods. The Bible does not say that there is only one God. Which many people make the mistake of believing. there are many, except The God of the Bible is the most powerful. You can serve other gods, just you have to accept the consequences. I find it very fascinating. With Christianity comes a view of the parallel world to ours with powers, and principalities, and spirits. You get to see the hands of God, and the hands of other gods at work. That's why of all false religions witchcraft is the one with the biggest warning because witchcraft does work. It works because those spirits are real. Look at it like this. there's a big community of gods, God of the Bible is their leader. They revolt, they are charged with treason and all the humans that follow them face the penalty for treason. The way to pardon treason is a pure sacrifice. People can choose to accept the pardon or face execution with the traitors. It's very fun. VERY VERY fun. Life is an adventure. Not all christians see this though. Only the ones who were so destined to. Everyone is given according to his ability. It's awesome. Anyways. so that's it. Oh yeah, you see there would be no right if we didn't know what wrong was. You see Adam and Eve had their eyes opened. they began to know what wrong was. they began to see a difference. they were now faced with new choices. Ah the beginning of the treason and the ultimate. Exciting no?

I guess, the same for the word "Elohim" (godS) ... It is the plural of the word "Eloh" , which means god ...

Gods, as in plural???

From Magick by Aliester Crowley: "I am a God, I very God of very God; I go upon my way to work my will; I have made matter and motion for my mirror; I have decreed for my delight that Nothingness should figure itself as twain, that I might dream a dance of names and natures, and enjoy the substance of simplicity by watching the wanderings of my shadows. I am not that which is not; I know which knows not; I love that which loves not. For I am Love, whereby division dies in delight; I am Knowledge, whereby all parts, plunged in the whole, perish and pass into perfection; and I am that I am, the being wherein Being is lost in Nothing, nor deigns to be but its Will to unfold its nature, its need to express its perfection in all possibilities, each phase a partial phantasm, and yet inevitable and absolute.

"I am Omniscient, for naught exists for me unless I know it. I am Omnipotent, for naught occurs save by Necessity my soul's expression through my will to be, to do, to suffer the symbols of itself. I am Omnipresent, for naught exists where I am not, who fashioned space as a condition of my consciousness myself, who am the center of all, and my circumference the frame of my fancy.
