xgaryedgex Posted November 10, 2003 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2003 this is the most excited i've ever been about a movie coming out. 2004 brings Aliens vs Predator to the big screen. i havent found out too much about it yet. all thats really said is the two alien races are fighting in antartica and humans find out about it and want to entercept the technology. this all takes place in the now even before the Aliens movies take place in the future. the Predators bring the Aliens to earth and unleash them in antartica to hunt them. satellites pick up a desturbance down there and thats how humans get envolved. There's always been something about the predators I don't like... they're too human looking in the way they hold themselves and move. The Alien vs Predator thing started out as books though, then spread into comics...the idea for making a movie of it has been in the pipeline since before Alien Resurrection (which, by the way, I really don't think they should have made...) but were put on hold so they could make the rather horrible 4th movie instead. Apparantly, the reason Alien 4 was so bad (according to the writer) was that the production team changed his script to the extent it was almost nothing like his version. I'm hoping Alien vs Predator has a better crew behind it...I also hope they get a less comic booky name Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

alienmojo Posted November 25, 2003 #9 Share Posted November 25, 2003 Alien Vs Predator has been on the table for over ten years now and no one has wanted to touch it... and for good reason. No one is going to go and see a movie that is just about these two species hacking it out and the money involved in costumes and special effects was considered too much to offset the price of the movie. However, now they can use digital effects and not even have to have an actor in a suit. Sometimes I don't the people involved in the series understood it well enough to develop it better. Although I like Alien 3 there were 13 scripts for this movie and one of them was incredible. I have it. It all takes place on a space station with Hicks and Bishop. No Ripley (Hicks sends her back to Earth) New form of Aliens that take you over from the inside out. But no, they use that prison world. Although most will laugh at me, I still find Alien 3 my favorite. Alien 4... oh man what were they thinking? They had a great idea taken from Dark Horse Comics and then went no where with it. They had some of the greatest character actors available and then killed the best one off first! Then of course don't kill the cripple in the chair. If I had made that movie I would have shocked the audience by killing him first. Then there is Winona Ryder. Oh my goodness! Whoever was responcible for putting her in there should be shot. Her character was so stupid with no interesting things about her. Make her a sharp shooter or proficient with that knife of hers, but dont make her a lame whiney robot girl! Oh man! As far as Alien Vs Predator goes, if they are smart they will take them from the Dark Horse Comics. There was one novel I had about a rancher community on some small outpost world run by the company. A predator ship comes and drops some aliens off to hunt. The predators ship is blown up by the humans and all but one predator is spared. Then the aliens arrive and the station's woman leader becomes hunting companions with this predator... and just before he leaves he gives her something. You have to read it.. great book and would make a great movie. I don't think the Aliens will be coming to Earth though. Just too expensive. I'll keep an eye out and see what I see.
