Still Waters Posted May 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2015 Imagine that you work for an organization with hundreds of employees and you're about to give a presentation to the entire group. The CEO and all the board members are in the audience. You've been anxious about this talk all week, and now your heart is pounding. Your palms are sweating. Your mouth feels dry. What is the best thing to do in this moment? Should you try to calm down or try to feel excited? http://www.wsj.com/a...tage-1431700708
+and-then Posted May 18, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 18, 2015 I remember a college Psych course where they called this "eustress" as opposed to "distress"
quiXilver Posted May 19, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2015 I performed for years on stage and the jitters would come and go depending on the type of role, state of the show, state of my personal life, etc... Often times I could use the energy, but that entirely depended on the context of the show as to whether it would help or hurt.
