IT seemed a routine matter when police received calls this week from motorists that a car had veered off a road with its headlights blazing. But when officers went to investigate, they found no sign of the vehicle. It appeared to have vanished.

A further search was ordered, however, with chilling results.  Just 20 metres from the reported "crash scene" and buried in twisted undergrowth was the remains of a wrecked car containing the skeleton of a man.

What a shame that his family have been waiting all this time to find out where he was only to now know that he died months ago and nobody knew.  mellow.gif

That said, what a great 'road ghost' kinda story. Has the makings of a classic tale.

it certainly has all the markings of a crisis apparition, the crash was replayed so that someone would find the body and the car, and so let him rest and stop his family from worrying.

I could have sworn that I had seen this same article 2 months ago. If not it's a weird coincidence. blink.gif
