Bahamut_0 Posted February 18, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2006 (edited) I apologize for my answer, but... Edit, removed obscenity. Bahamut_0, watch the language, apologizing doesn't make it acceptable. Edited February 18, 2006 by Magikman
__Kratos__ Posted February 18, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2006 (edited) If I read it right... she's making fun of cell phone users. I must be dumb then... I have never owned a cell phone. Edited February 18, 2006 by Magikman
Bahamut_0 Posted February 18, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted February 18, 2006 No no, you got it wrong, I love sarcasm. =D I have a cell phone but I don't use it much, and when I want to talk I search for the nearest, more private place.
chunga Posted February 18, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2006 I have one too. To be honest, I'd be lost without it. I just can't understand the cell phone "addiction". It's getting down right weird if you ask me. Look around sometime. It's like everyone is messing with a cell phone. It not only allows phone calls, but text, computer access, tv, news, songs.... It reminds me of some kind of sci-fi movie where everyone is "locked into some kind of game trance" or something. Kids are growing up faster these days and getting into more trouble. I suspect it's because they have access to greater communication and therefore make 'plans' become a reality whereas back in the days when I was growing up, we had to wait until we got back to school to hatch out schemes and such. And usually by that time, we'd have had time to rethink some stuff. Bear in mind, I'm an old nag. I agree, the whole minimize the size and load it with everything from your house is crazy. I also look around and it is like each person is messing with a phone. Freaky, I even heard there will soon be a cell phone that has all text stuff , camera, internet, tv and soon a stick will pop out, you just pee on it and its a pregnancy test. Too much, way too much!!!!!!
+Link of Hyrule Posted February 18, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 18, 2006 You forgot the biggie - the phone ringing during a movie at the cinema complex. And then, they actually answer and talk fairly loudly over the movie. And, while not quite as bad, still really got at me, while I was watching The Two Towers (LOTR pt2), the dude next to me was using his text service through the whole thing. It was on silent, but this orange-lighted phone constantly moving at the peripheral of my vision *AAAARRRRGGGGHHH* For the kids reading this - DO NOT GET A MOBILE PHONE!!!! You can live without it, right up until the time you actually get one, then you can't live without it. STAY AWAY - AS LONG AS YOU CAN!!!!!! chunga Posted February 18, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2006 ...and soon a stick will pop out, you just pee on it and its a pregnancy test. You are kidding, right? It was a David Letterman joke on his talk show. Before I got addicted to this menace I noticed that someone had ripped out all the payphones for 100 miles in each direction in my city. What if you dont fall into the cell phone trap and need a phone? It was great when there was a WORKING payphone on every block. Cell phones do kill, they wiped out an entire payphone business. The worst thing that I have seen is the youth of some of the owners of these phones. Little kids in 3rd and 4th grade at my sons school come running out of class at the end of the day and they whip out a phone and start talking . They are 8 years old. Jeez, my son had to wait til he was in highschool for his and I still felt weird about him having it. Bring back the slow pace, pin number free days of old. Raptor Posted February 18, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2006 ^I'm 15, I've got a mobile phone; I got my first when I was 12. It's really handy and great to have, but I don't use it obessively like most people. Some of my friends send hundreds of texts a month, it's insane. There's hope yet. bloodyfish Posted February 18, 2006 #9 Share Posted February 18, 2006 (edited) I remember everything bad I ever did. And thats close to perfect memory. I can also remember very small things. A friend of mine was playing a video game. He was playing a level he beat before. It was a few years since he played. I managed to give him a full walkthrough for the level from my memory. And thats my memory. Not sure about phones, I never use mine. It has something to do with having noone to talk to.
