Has anyone ever heard of or been to Bachelors Grove Cemetary in the Chicagoland area? It is very famous and it is one of the top 10 most haunted places in the country. I was there once, but unfortunately, nothing really happened. The only thing that really happned was i heard a rattle on the fence when i first entered. plus we got some mist and possible orbs on our photos. also, there was a sunken in grave which was strange. The cemetary is in the woods down a really long path that seems to go on and on. There is a legend of a phantom house that will appear by the path sometimes. but if you get closer to it, it will disappear. when you finally step into the gates of the cemetary, you get the strangest and oddest feeling in the world. like someone is watching you. and this weird feeling goes into your head like the ghosts are trying to overwhelm you or something. there are many stories to this place. if you think this is interesting, then go to www.bachelorsgrove.com to learn more. its worth it. and if you live in IL and you have been there, then tell me about it.

I live in Illinois and I have been there. Back in the '70's it was a dare-you-to-go-there place for teenagers as well as a secluded party place for some stoners. I remember seeing what looked like a sunken grave, some graves that looked like somebody dug them up.

What stands out most in my memory, though, is the mist that you mentioned. At that time I remember thinking it was fog although we were out there in the afternoon in the summertime when it was hot and sunny (duh...). w00t.gif

The place DID "feel" bad and I hated being in there but I'm not so sure ALL of that was due to paranormal activity. What I mean is there was definite evidence of animal sacrifice. We saw a large dog carcass with it's skull smashed down into the ground, as well as what looked like a couple of cats and one smaller dead dog. There were some large rocks nearby with what looked like could have been dried blood. Maybe they killed them and then stomped on and smashed the poor innocent creatures afterwards? I don't know. I don't want to know. I can't imagine those poor animals doing anything to deserve such a fate.

That was the last time I was there. Maybe that's why the place felt so bad. I also heard about the house, but I never saw it and I don't know anybody who has. I was unaware that the place had such a legend. Not much happened there. Maybe the stoners I mentioned got the story growing so big? thumbsup.gif
