If it's like that, ok. I didn't realise they could do that and get more out of it financially... I assumed they'd have a new house that'd be worth the same amount as the old one, not one of better value. Weird system.
If they are in a council home then financial has nothing to do with it. It does not say they own the home but does say they were residence of the home, so most likely they are renting otherwise I do not see why they just did not put the home on the  market and sell it.
Who knows what the reason is behind it, maybe they had problems with neighbours, maybe they did not like the neighbourhood or the home they were in? we can only speculate because once again, the media only tells us half the story....maybe the media do not know themselves.
There can be a number of reasons why the family wanted to be rehoused, but as i said, if they owned the place, they could have kept stoompt and sold it.
But as council tenants, they would gain nothing financially because its not theirs in the first place.

In an ideal World a law would be passed were NO guns were allowed and all those out there destroyed, trouble is the law makers are not going to take a risk of trying to pass that without making sure they are armed first.

usualy i'd stick a sarky comment in for a cheap laugh but it's not an easy proccess moving house.  Not all people do things for gain, some do it because they are actualy suffering and some poltergeist cases are linked to humans rather than ghosts.

There is a council that find families housing in France??  Wow.

I wonder how that works.  I had to find my own place to live.

in france they have a system called 'ashlem'
(H.L.M- habitation à loyer modéré), which is subsidised housing, but this is, more often than not, taken advantage of by the privileged, doctors, lawyers, etc. who carry influence with the city councils, and use it to jump the queues.
unfortunately.

Makes no sense, why would the priveliged need subsidised housing.  Sounds like corruption.  I hope the council inds something quick, I can`t imagine having to camp indeinitely.

And to stay on topic, the family should have documented their experience on video, with pics, whatever they could.  It would have been cool to see.

that's EXACTLY what it is!
some rich lawyer who's kid's going to college pulls a few strings and gets her subsidised housing? happens all the time!

We've got problems too, but I'm still happy to be American.
