Still Waters Posted November 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2014 The new Paddington Bear film has been given a Parental Guidance rating, to the surprise of its 88-year-old creator, Michael Bond. A PG certificate means some scenes may be unsuitable or unsettling for young children under the age of eight. Children's films are generally expected to be given a Universal certificate, allowing any child to watch them. http://news.sky.com/...-pg-certificate
Rafterman Posted November 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2014 I don't really see that as much of an issue. Some of Disney's top movies have been rated PG - Frozen, The Incredibles, Tangled, Wreck it Ralph, Lilo and Stitch, Brave, etc. And, frankly, some of the ones that were rated G (like Lion King for example) probably should have been rated PG. Crabby Kitten Posted November 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 19, 2014 What a bunch of lilly livered morons they are. "Among the "mild sex references" is a "comic sequence in which a man disguised as a woman is flirted with by another man"." FFS this happens all the time in children's pantomimes. It's silly. There's nothing "mild sexual" about comedy.
Border Collie Posted November 23, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Paddington gets a PG. Pooh gets banned. There is a pattern emerging here.
