Infowars has obtained a document from the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security & Preparedness that lists banal bodily activities such as yawning, staring and goose pumps as “suspicious activity” indicative of terrorism.

The document (PDF), entitled Terrorism Awareness and Prevention, is presented as a guide for both “residents and workers of New Jersey,” along with employees of federal, state and local agencies, on how to “assist in combating terrorism” by identifying “unusual or suspicious activities and behaviors.”

The guide encourages participants to “look for signs of nervousness in the people you come in contact with.” “Signs will become particularly evident in a person’s eyes, face, next and body movements.”

The document then lists examples of suspicious behavior indicative of terrorism, which include, “Exaggerated yawning when engaged in conversation,” “glances,” “cold penetrating stare,” “rigid posture,” and “goose bumps”.

It's being being overrun by a bunch of people who keep lowering their standards for what is worth claiming as the next potential cause for a falling sky?

Its easy to spot a terrorist.

Draw a little picture of Mohammad and see how they react. If they try to kill you then you've got a fundy.

Now, now...fundy's aren't terrorists.  They're just irritating.  Except the ones that try to kill you.  Those are asses.

I suppose what it is is, the Ministerium für Staatssicherheit, like all government Departments around the world, have to seek some way to justify their existence and their budget, and so when they're not inventing new Terror Threats, they invent 101 Ways to Spot a Terrorist. What exactly are you supposed to do if you do think that someone is Yawning suspiciously, or giving you a Cold Penetrating Stare?

Life is a hideous business, and from the background behind what we know of it peer daemoniacal hints of truth which make it sometimes a thousandfold more hideous.

Now wait a minute - all I've heard for the past decade is that we shouldn't be searching grandmas, children, Marines in uniform, etc. We should be profiling like they do in Israel.

Well what exactly do you think the above article is talking about - it's called profiling.

Profiling what? People who are bored or got up early? is "a Cold penetrating Stare" really going to identify a Terrorist?

Really? A person yawning can paint a profile picture enough for you to call them suspitious?

Precisely lol.

Normal Muslims will tell you you're being offensive to their faith and ask you to stop in which case we can apologise.

The dangerous ones that could be recruited by Jihadists will try and behead you instead.

I don't get you people. Please explain your reasoning here, as I may be a tad ignorant.

There are criminals and terrorists who want to attack people in the West. Western governments are trying to stop them. If they use wiretapping, it's a violation of your freedom. If they follow you around, it's a violation of freedom. As is reading your e-mails, installing CCTV cameras, using drones, etc. And even during travel, if they ask you to take off your shoes, or not to bring objects that could be used as weapons, or if they use those x-ray machines, or even pat downs, those are violations of freedom. And if they give extra scrutiny to people of certain religious beliefs or ethnic heritage, that too is a violation of freedom. Now they're not even allowed to read body language? Just exactly how do you intend to stop any crime or terrorist attack?

Right, because that's all they're looking at - people yawning.

It didnt say they had to be yawning and looking at thier watch. The document straight says that a exaggerated yawn in of its self is cause to believe someone might be a terrorist.

Well, crimes will always exist in any society.  But if we were to focus on a terrorist attack inside America it's important to discuss why the attack was necessary in the first place.  What motivates an individual or a group of individuals to commit a terrorist attack on Americans abroad or at home?  Why do they choose to kill americans?  Did they wake up one morning and decide I hate Americans because they watch football and rock n roll music?  Is it because Americans are all free and prosperous?  Why does anybody intentionally seek to hurt another individual or a group of individuals in foreign country?  Why do they spend the energy trying to kill when they could be doing other things with their life?  Why do they pick on americans and not say, the Swiss or the Germans??
