Now, most people would think that real lightsabers is just a stupid hoax. its not. a man has designed and built the first working prototype of a plasmasaber(lightsaber w/ blade is plasma.) it works something like this: there is hydrogen gas inside the hilt, and when it its turned on, a strong electromagnet creates an EM feild in the shape of the blade of a saber. next, the hydrogen is converted to plasma by a strong electrical charge, and it is released into the electromagnetic feild, and is conatained by it. there are, howerver, 3 problems..

1.its power sourse can only power the saber for 1 hour, at most.

2. if you throw a kitchen magnet at the blade, you can say 'Bye-Bye' to 'je-di'

3. the hilt is the size of a coffe table... geek.gif

The army doesn't sword fight any more. That's done. Permanently.

Anyway though, I could see something like that coming in handy(depending on it's capabilities) for construction and other things maybe.
