Still Waters Posted November 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2012 A team of scientists led by Dr Lonny Lundsten of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) in Moss Landing, California, has discovered an extraordinary new species of carnivorous sponge. The new species is named the harp sponge, or Chondrocladia lyra, because its basic structure is shaped like a lyre or harp. http://www.sci-news....ticle00703.html

Junior Chubb Posted November 15, 2012 #16 Share Posted November 15, 2012 (edited) I was really hoping to see a man cross legged on the ocean floor eating a sponge. My disappointment was replaced by amazement when I took a look at the killer-sponge. Now I can't stop imagining a Jaws like film... Sponge its not safe to go back into the water Edited November 15, 2012 by Junior Chubb
