What Did You Learn Today?

Someone once said that a day spent without learning something is a day wasted. So tell me, have you learned a single thing today? Please share so the rest of us might learn something together. :D

Trivial things, mind blowing things, boring things, funny things, anything. Just remember to of course keep it clean.

_____

Today I have learned not to photograph my daughter while she is "baking" cookies. Flour will be thrown, it will get all over my new camera's lens and I will have a slight momentarily panic attack.

But, I have also learned how to change a car tire for the first time. In -10C weather I might add. *pats own back*

Nope. Haven't learned anything today at all.

You know, I always hated it when my parents asked me that when I got home from school because all we ever did was basically rehash the same old garbage from the day before, only using different words.

I've been working on the electromagnetic interchanges between the moon and planets. Cross referencing the collected data and trying to arrive at some semblance of a recognisable understanding of their interrelations.... If any are to be found which I did.......Phew!!!

If this makes any sense to anyone ....Well done.

As it is hard for me to describe in such a pithy way.

I have learned today that it is indeed true that 'the best laid plans of mice and woman go aft gangley'(or whatever the correct Burns/Shakespeare quote is).

I had today carefully planned out ...... lots of things to do ..... but from the moment I opened my eyes when I woke up, I've been thwarted at every turn <_< .

I have also learned today that Ryu loves to exaggerate :P

I learned that when banks screw up and allow your account to be drained, no one wants to take responsibility, so instead they adopted a so-sorry-for-you attitude. :td::angry:

I learned that sometimes people are thinking of you whether you realize it or not. An old friend who I haven't seen in a while unexpectedly brought me lunch and it totally turned my day around.

I also learned that Seth Rogan actually considers himself a comedian. Silly Rogan, jokes are for funny people.

Bah, amateurs! I can be as difficult to deal with as a porcupine on viagra without the need of 90 other grouchy old farts!

My motto? Why be difficult when with a little thought and consideration for others, you can be downright bloody impossible!

I learned my favorite number of the alphabet is purple.

I've just learned that there's always one, isn't there?

I love the old guy dearly or I wouldn't bother - but he can make me CRAZY!!!!!!!!!! Then I think to myself - what would I be like at 91.. :w00t: and all is forgiven and forgotten 'til next time ;)

The spare batteries will change their size in accordance to what size you don’t need.

It’s similar with spare parts for anything, if you need it and know you have it somewhere, the moment you find it it morphs into something slightly different.

I already knew that, what I learned today is how to accept it.

i learned that you can never have enough empty egg cartons laying around the house!

i also took a gander at the symbolism behind the ying yang symbol....thanks wikipedia

which is often called "yin and yang", many natural dualities (e.g., female & male, dark & light, low & high, cold & hot, water & fire, etc., etc.,) are thought of as physical manifestations of the yin-yang concept, is used to describe how seemingly opposite or contrary forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world; and, how they give rise to each other as they inter-relate to one other.

I learned (from UM actually) that we really don't know why the earth has a magnetic field...the theory that it's caused by electric currents through the iron core is still (evidently) just a theory, not proven. And anyway, why would there be electric currents going through it? Ghosts of bad electric eels get sent down there maybe? :w00t:

This morning my granddaughter taught me that although horses love Sherbet Dips, the resulting gallons of foam around their muzzles sends unwitting stable-girls scrambling for the telephone to ring the Vet! (I'll leave you to imagine the sequence of events!)
