I Saw The Devil - Horrifying Korean thriller. If the ghost/monster horror films don't freak you out try this one.

Pleased to meet you. Hope you guess my name.

Nothing scares me...normally horror flicks make me angry or are pretty giggle-worthy.  Some personal faves:

- Evil Dead trilogy with Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn as the winner
- Silence of the Lambs: classic movie that doesn't date.
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)
- Braindead aka Dead Alive ('I kick ass for the Lord!')
- I Spit on Your Grave (both original and remake)
- Hellraiser
- Romero's Dead trilogy ('Day of the Dead' is the best imo)
- The Wicker Man
- Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl
- Candyman

-And many, many more

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time

So, whats the best horror movies?  Please note, it's hard to spook me.

John Carpenter's "The Thing" was one of the rare movies to give me chills.  So I guess you can use that as an example?

A couple that I just love :

1. Stanley Kubricks "the Shining" - possibly one of the scariest ghost story movies I have ever seen.
2. The original "Dawn of the Dead" - IMHO the standard by which all other zombie movies are judged
3. "Paranormal Activity" - the sequels have blunted it a bit, but that first one is still an effective low-budget movie.
4. "Jaws" - you can watch it 10 times and still feel the suspense it generates
5. "the Thing" - not only claustrophobic in it's horror but also a watershed moment for practical SFX.
