LostSouls7 Posted July 11, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2013 I was watching that video about the occult and about the Emerald Tablet of Hermes. What can it be used for today? They say it was what was read in Rennisance times. Here is the whole tablet online. http://www.sacred-texts.com/alc/emerald.htm Enjoy and let's discuss
Sir Wearer of Hats Posted July 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2013 i thought the Emerald Tablets were something created by Aleister Crowley.
Maverek Posted July 11, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2013 The Emerald Tablets of Hermes, also referenced by some as the Emerald Tablets of Thoth. I think at least a portion of it is translated from the Kitab sirr al-asrar? I might be wrong on that one, I have a book that is unfortunately not with me at the moment but as soon as I return home I'll dig it out. It's mostly used in the philosophical pursuit of alchemy. I think most people read it today like one would read The Art of War, as in they read it for the philosophy presented in the text rather than to apply it. I think the best source for reading translations of all the tablets is here: http://www.crystalinks.com/emerald.html It's a wonderfully fascinating read, at any rate.
