No no.. if you want horror, you need to tearn to Japanese thriller films.

'The Audition' can give any man his share of nightmares, and 'A Tale of Two Sisters' will keep your skin crawling for days.

With more complicated plots, more imagination and more experience in the fine art of scaring the hell out of anything that moves, Japan's got it in the bag.

i have to agree. japanese horror/thriller are the best. i have the ring trilogy, both ju-ons (aka the grudge), the eye (korean but still good), dark water, yogen (the original better version of butterfly effect) and many others.

The scariest movie I've ever seen is the Ring. It made me cry, and hide in the bathroom because I was scared of my TV. But Ringu is just as creepy. I saw Ju-On, and that just sucked. I've been trying to track down the Tale of Two Sisters, but can't seem to find it. I forget what the Japanese name is, but Uncanny wasn't scary at all, and made no sense.

Horror movies usually don't scare me. The only movies to ever actually scare me are Silent Hill and The Descent, so I guess those are the best to me.

I saw the american version of that. It was funny cause right after we watched it my grandma rang but you should have seen my family jump when the phone rang

I have also seen most of the japanese version I thought this version was nuch better in the story line and the way it was shot but no it wasnt scary

"Freaks" hands down. Can't really think of any other frightening movies. Usually just put horror movies into "cool" or "stupid" categories.

A few cool ones:

"Lord of Illusions"

First three "Hellraiser" movies.

"Silent Hill"

"White Noise"

And a few stupids:

"The Grudge"

Anything Wes Craven has ever made.

"Wolf Creek"

Blair Witch Project:It is the cheapest horror movie of all time and its simplicity makes it really tense, and realistic.

All of M Night Shyamalans movies ecept for lady in the water and unbreakable have been good.

The Alien at the party moment in signs is the most shocking moment ever.

I think the scariest horror movie al time is The Exorcist. I also thought the Ring was scary.

The best overall horror of all time, IMO, is Evil Dead II. It's more funny than scary, but it's a trip!

Exorcist.

I agree. I was only a kid when I saw it and it scarred me for life. Scary!!

I like the 'suspense' variety best, because that's what horror is really about. The ones that are usually explicitly labeled 'horror' tend to just have things pop out of walls and shock people instead of putting effort into creating a sense of dread in the viewer.

I would have to say Evil Dead 1+2. Not exactly scary, but are must see for anyone who likes cult classics!

I'm not afraid of movies at my age, but when i was a kid :o Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm street, Childs Play, Holloween were all scary.

But yeah if you want quality stuff most of them are of the Asian Horror movies

The scariest when I was a kid was Alien 1 and 2. I saw 3 in the theaters but I was too old to be afraid, but I was glued to it. Then 'Ressurection' came out and, that was a 't.v.' gluer.

I'm not afraid of horror movies anymore though, I got broken in too early as a kid. One good way to see it in modern time though if you think of it was Saw/Saw 2 which I found absolutely interesting and shocking - no doubt. :tu:

Unless you saw the Exocist in the theater and had a 300 lb terrorized clawing Catholic teen girl and her teen friend leap on you in fear, you have not been to the scariest movie. :o

Totally agree. Those are the two scariest movies to me.

When I was a kid, my sisters and I had to run out of the room while watching Them. We argued who would have to go back in and turn off the TV because even the sounds of the giant ants were scaring us.

I'll have to agree that Exorcist is the scariest or one of the scariest movies ever. I liked Alien for the slow buildup of suspense and the monster, when you finally get to see him clearly, did not disappoint.

Mimic got to me too. There are so many good horror movies that I could go on for hours.

There is only one horror movie that has made me actually scream from fright, and that is "Virtual Nightmare". I saw it last year and i could not close my eyes without seeing horrible images from this movie's unbearable graphic scenes.
