Waspie_Dwarf Posted February 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2013 What's Up for February 2013On February 15 a small asteroid named 2012 DA-14 will whiz by, only 17,200 miles from Earth. It doesn't pose any threat to us, but it is sure to create a buzz around the world.Credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech › Asteroid and Comet Watch siteSource: NASA - Multimedia

Indiogene Posted February 2, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 2, 2013 North Americans won't be able to easily view the passerby asteroid due to its' magnitude, but Mercury and Mars are close to each other on the night of the 15-16th (My birthday night)...and the Comet Pan-Starrs seems to point towards a setting Mars in March.
