The right to die. 1 in 240 Americans will die from a gun shot in their life. maybe you would like to exchange your chance of death by homicide for Americans. Some rights are more important than others. I prefer the right to personal safety over the right to carry a gun.

there were 15084 rapes in england wales in 2009, 422 in Ireland, and 884 in Scotland in the same year.
with brings it to rates roughly 27, 23, 17. based on population in those areas.

so? more will die from car accidents, medical mistakes, and food poisoning. some of those shot, deserve to be shot.
show us the source, cuz numbers you post aint any more credible that you are.

you know if 1 in 240 dies from guns in USA i'd like potential rapists, and attempted murders be there instead of their victims.

You are wrong again - the evidence points to guns having no impact on rape figures. It that simple.

Not really.  If the federal government isn't the agent that throws our rule of law out the window in favor of Socialism, what is?    You are aware there's an Amendment process in this country where the 2nd Amendment can be repealed.   Regardless, take an honest look at murder rates in Washington DC and tell me why you trust them to administer the rest of the country too?   Maybe it's just bad luck they're having in DC, eh?

Just popping in to point out that your examples are flawed.

In order to drive you need a license which means that you must be tested and the government keeps track of your driving behavior.  Bad behavior (not even fatal) will get your license suspended and no more driving and possibly severe penalties (financial and jail).

Medical mistakes - same as above.  Intensive study and licensing required.  Government monitored.  Bad behavior = serious consequences.

Food poisoning - generally an individual's own fault.  Sale of most foods (stores/farms/etc.) monitored and watched.  Krogers sells contaminated cabbage?  Krogers gets sued and is responsible for the action.

Gun ownership?  Ok, background check required.  Full stop in my state.  No registering.  No testing.  No training.  No follow up.  Sales between individuals - free for all.  No tracking.  No license.  Nothing.

So according to your statement you are putting medical mistakes, food poisoning, driving and gun ownership/use on the same level.  Shouldn't they have at LEAST the same type of management as your other examples?
